Our new residents' social for the month of July was welcomed by all the residents and staff. The new residents, Pat, Barbara, Eugene, Bill and Tina enjoyed this social event. Our dining services department provided delicious appetizers for the whole community. Welcome to all our new residents! We also had a special viewing of Brookdale's Make it Mine YouTube series that featured our residents, Brent and Rita, and the makeover of their apartment. Our Everyday Hero for the month of July is Shannon. Shannon is our Dining Room Manager. Shannon works hard for our residents and shows kindness and patience for everyone in our community. Congratulations, Shannon!

Our milestone birthdays for the month of July were Anne who turned 99 years old and Wayne who turned 75 years old! We celebrated with all the residents that had birthdays in July by having and Ice cream social with our happy hour. Double the fun for everyone!

What shenanigans are we up to here at Brookdale Apache Junction? We are having Christmas in July. The residents were given a present, and we played a game where a story was read and every time the words "right" or "left" were spoken in the story the resident had to follow the direction from the story. The gifts went around and around the group, and finally they were able to open their gifts. This was so fun that they asked to play again at Christmas in December.

We love crafts!!! This month we featured a beach glass craft for our residents. The crafters in our community loved to show off their hard work. Each resident showed off their creative skills by creating a unique vase. Their hard work paid off because these turned out so beautiful!

We enjoyed having New Image Fashions come to Brookdale Apache Junction. New Image Fashions is a mobile store that has quality name brand clothing for discount prices. Our residents took advantage of shopping at home! We had some our residents participate in a fashion show to showcase the beautiful clothing that was brought in. Thank you, New Image Fashions, for coming out for our residents.

We celebrated Independence Day by inviting the residents families and friends to and free lunch and entertainment. The families loved the food and entertainment, and posed for pictures at our photo booths. The evening had fireworks that were at our Apache Junction High School, so our residents could see from our 2nd and 3rd floor balconies of our community. The residents didn't even have to leave the comfort of their home. This was such a fun event for everyone.

Our Residents love to "come on down" to be the contestants on the Price is Right! The prizes are described by our ED and Emcee, Ralph and the resident with the closest "bid" without going over wins the prize. The residents love this game!

Soon after Golee moved into Brookdale Browns Creek, she looked across the dining table and saw a familiar face. Peggy had worked with her at a local school for more than 20 years, and they were reunited once again! Life had brought them full circle, and we can't wait to see them take on this new chapter together. 💙

We had a grief support service for our residents and staff. The ceremony included a process of writing your loved one's name and then placing a flower or two into two separate vases to create two beautiful bouquets of flowers. These bouquets were displayed throughout the community to honor loved ones who have passed. This was such a beautiful ceremony that touched both residents and staff.

Our Friends for Life winner for the April-June Quarter was Joan. Joan referred a friend to our community, and her name was drawn for this Springtime Lemonade themed basket. Joan and her friend will enjoy having conversations and lemonade when her friend moves in. Congratulations, Joan!
