Happy Mardi Gras!! We celebrated Mardi Gras by inviting our Apache Junction Police Department over to our community for a Pancake Breakfast! Thank you, AJ Police Department for all you do for our Community!

We celebrated Valentine's week with our residents by spreading love throughout the community. First we sang with our monthly program Music by Lynda, then we created some beautiful ceramic hearts. We had "Not Your Average Dough" bring in homemade sourdough treats for our residents. Students from Skyline High school SN program made and delivered over 110 valentines cards and candy for our residents. This community loves to spread the love for each other not just this week but every day.

Our Apache Junction Library loves to do crafts with our residents. This month Arizona turned 114 years old on Valentine's Day. Our residents created these cute "Love Cacti" to Celebrate Arizona and Valentine's Day.

This Valentine's Day, we want to celebrate our recently moved-in couples. We have a total of 17 married couples here at Brookdale Apache Junction. Our longest new married couple is Ed & Joyce (68 years) they first met at a church function. Mary & Roger (58 years) were high school sweethearts. Pat & Brenda (56 years) also met at church. Don & Velma (54 years) met at a singles party. Jerry & Jan recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Fred and Bonnie (39 years) met at work. Peter & Vicki (37 years) met at work also. Brent & Rita (31 years) met on a dating service. Happy Valentine's Day Everyone, from Brookdale Apache Junction.

Pizza and Beer is one of our favorite activities here at Brookdale Apache Junction. We also have future entertainers do a preview of their music as part of our entertainment schedule. This local entertainer, Candice, did a performance of her music for our residents, and they loved her style.

Our residents enjoyed the scenery at Saguaro Lake. We loved the tour on the Desert Belle Boat. We actually saw bighorn sheep in the mountains. Did you know that the Saguaro cactus only begins to grow additional arms when it reaches the age of 50 years old? Such wonderful history about Arizona.

Brookdale Apache Junction had such a successful Casino Day event. The event included the illusionist, Rick Gilliam, an open bar with our delicious lunch buffet, casino table games, and our local Vegas style entertainer, George Stanley. Our community had so much fun putting on this event for our residents and future residents.

Our residents toured the Beautiful St. Anthony's Monastery in Florence, Arizona. The monks who reside there maintain the beautiful gardens on the property. Our residents were amazed at the perfectly kept grounds.
