The Desert Rain Collection began with a simple idea:
I wanted to create something that captured the smell of the desert after it rains.
My husband has always loved that scent, and I wanted to make something inspired by it that he would truly appreciate.
The first product I created was the Desert Rain Creosote Salve, and it turned out beautifully. It captured that fresh desert rain aroma in a way that felt truly special. As people began using it, I started hearing from customers about how much they loved having it on hand as part of their skincare routine.
What started as inspiration from the desert became one of my favorite botanicals to work with, and it has since grown into a full collection that so many people enjoy.

Humble Beginnings
Siphon Draw Apothecary began in the kitchen of husband and wife team Colleen and Alan Sinclair. With Colleen’s 30 years of experience in beauty and holistic medicine and Alan’s love of nature and knowledge of local plants, they combined their passion and experience to create lush products that deliver beautiful results naturally.
Fueled by the belief that what you put on your body is as important as what you put into it, they sought to create a line that would support the body’s natural systems and deliver results without the use of harmful chemicals that offer short-term fixes, but ultimately cause long-term harm. The skin is the body’s largest organ and can absorb some 60% of everything you put on it—in most cases, it takes less than 30 seconds for cosmetics to be absorbed into the bloodstream.
With this in mind, they created Siphon Draw—nourishing the skin naturally with potent wild botanicals and clean, organic ingredients. Their products draw from the nutrient-rich soil of Siphon Draw and the healing magic of the surrounding desert.
