Big things are taking shape inside Weems!

Construction is underway on a new, dedicated CT suite - bringing updated, state-of-the-art imaging technology inside the hospital.

While we’ve been proud to offer CT services through a mobile unit, this upgrade means improved access, efficiency, and comfort for our patients.

We’ll be sharing more as we get closer to completion!

A small detail that makes a difference.

Thanks to Allison Greene, a Florida State University student and Big Bend Hospice volunteer, a hospice room at Weems now features hand-painted ceiling tiles designed to bring a sense of calm and comfort.

This room is what’s known as a General Inpatient (GIP) hospice room - a space where patients can receive short-term, around-the-clock care to help manage pain and symptoms when they need a higher level of support.

It’s a simple but powerful reminder that thoughtful touches matter - especially in moments when patients and families need it most.

We’re thankful for volunteers like Allison who share their time and talent with our community. 💙

We recently hosted a community conversation with Upward Communities and local partners focused on expanding housing opportunities for essential workers in Franklin County.

Weems Memorial Hospital was proud to participate in the recent Alliant Management Services rural hospital conference, where healthcare leaders gathered to share best practices and strengthen care for the communities they serve.

CEO David Walker and Board Member Duffie Harrison were invited to present on customer service and compassionate care.

Over the past year, Weems has made kindness, compassion, and patient experience a focused priority, with leadership regularly discussing ways our team can better support patients and families.

We understand that visits to the hospital often happen on difficult days. Our goal is simple - to meet every patient with care, respect, and kindness.
