✨ Stretch of the Week ✨
Hip Flexors
The hip flexors are a group of muscles (including the iliopsoas, re**us femoris, and sartorius) located at the front of your hips. They’re responsible for lifting your knee toward your chest and stabilizing your pelvis and lower spine.
When these muscles become tight — which is very common from sitting or repetitive movement — it can cause discomfort in the hips, lower back, or even the knees. Stretching them regularly provides several important benefits.
Benefits:
✔ Improves hip mobility and flexibility
✔ Relieves lower back pain
✔ Enhances posture and pelvic alignment
✔ Prevents injury
✔ Improves athletic performance
✔ Reduces tightness from prolonged sitting
✔ Supports circulation and muscle recovery
Those who may benefit from this stretch:
- People who sit for long periods
- Athletes and active individuals
- People with lower back pain or pelvic tilt
- Older adults
- Those recovering from hip or leg injuries (under guidance)
- Anyone with tightness in the front of the hips or groin
Hip flexor stretches improve mobility, reduce back and hip pain, enhance posture, prevent injuries, and relieve stiffness — making them beneficial for nearly everyone, especially people who sit often or are physically active.
