Churchill came in this week for his neuter procedure and quickly became everyone’s favorite patient. 😍

Neutering is a routine surgery that helps prevent unwanted litters and can reduce the risk of certain health issues later in life.

But most importantly… it gives us an excuse to spend time with adorable faces like this.

We had not one…but two dogs wearing doggles visit us this week. 😎 🐾

Zuzu may have had the most fashionable pair though. 💅

Her mom says she wears them when they go for rides in a convertible with the top down. 👀

Wind in her ears. Doggles on. Living her best life.

We’re not saying he’s the coolest patient we’ve ever had…but we’re also not not saying it.

Otto was a little nervous before his dental cleaning, which is completely normal. Veterinary visits can feel overwhelming for some patients.

After receiving his pre-anesthetic medications, Dr. Cindy sat right down in his kennel and held him while the sedation began to take effect, making sure he felt safe and comforted as he relaxed.

Moments like this say so much about the heart behind the care we provide. Our patients are our Peak City Vet family, and they deserve patience, compassion, and a gentle touch.

Pepper had her mass removal surgery and was feeling a little sleepy afterward but that is completely normal after anesthesia.

One of the most important parts of any procedure is post-operative monitoring. Our team makes it a priority to check in to make sure our patients are waking up comfortably, staying warm, and recovering safely.

When we stopped by to check on Pepper, we asked if she was doing okay…and that little tail wag was all the answer we needed.

Even when they’re tired, those tiny moments remind us they’re feeling safe and cared for and that’s exactly what we want for every patient.

Opal was in the middle of a great nap when we had to wake her up for X-rays…and she had a few thoughts about it. 👀

Don’t worry. We made it up to her with a well-deserved lunch afterward. 😋

I think she forgave us. ☺️

Sometimes the sweetest moments happen before the appointment even begins.

While Maggie’s mom was filling out a couple of forms for her dental visit, Maggie made herself comfortable by resting her paws and head right on mom’s leg like a little pillow. 💕

We love seeing pets feel this relaxed and at home during their visits with us.

Sometimes the best “restraint” is just mom’s arms 🤗

Fig came to see us for what looked like an eye infection, and while he was a little nervous for his exam…he knew exactly where he felt safest. Straight into mom’s arms.

At about 40 pounds, he may not technically be a baby…but don’t tell him that. 😉

This is something we want pet owners to know: not every patient will stand perfectly still and that’s okay. We adjust. We pivot. We meet them where they’re comfortable.

Sometimes that means:
✔️ Sitting on the floor
✔️ Taking a few extra minutes
✔️ Letting them stay in a lap
✔️ Teaming up with mom or dad

Our goal isn’t just to “get it done.” It’s to make the experience as low-stress as possible while still giving them the care they need.

And if that means a 40lb “lap dog” exam…we’re all for it. 💛

And just when we thought Maye’s story couldn’t get any sweeter…🥹 🐾 The day before we saw Maye for her spay, we met one of her nine chocolate babies.

Meet Gracie. 🤎

Gracie came in for her very first exam with her new family. She's happy, healthy, and soaking up all the love. What makes this so special?

We had no idea when we posted those 9 tiny chocolate puppies weeks ago that one of them would end up with one of our very own clients. And then, by complete coincidence, we saw daughter and mama just one day apart.

From whelping foster…to first puppy exams…to forever homes.

Sometimes we get to be a small part of really big, beautiful stories.

Do you remember the 9 chocolate lab mix puppies we posted about a month ago? 🤎 Well…this is their mama.

Meet Ruthie — now officially renamed Maye 💕

Several months ago, Maye entered the foster system with Peak Lab Rescue, and her now-owner tried to adopt her. What no one knew at the time? She was pregnant.

Instead of going home right away, Maye went to a whelping foster, delivered nine beautiful chocolate babies, and raised them until they were fully weaned and ready for their own families. (Yes — the same adorable chocolate crew we saw for their intakes 🥹.)

After her puppies were taken care of, it was finally Maye’s turn. She came to see us for her rescue spay — a little nervous, but so, so brave. She got plenty of love (including loving snuggles), recovered beautifully, and is now right where she was always meant to be...With her new family.

And if the matching pink harness and pink sweater don’t scream “meant to be,” we don’t know what does. 💗

From rescue…to motherhood…to finally being someone’s baby.

This is why we love working with rescues. We don’t just see procedures, we get to witness journeys.

Happy forever, Maye. 💕
