With spring right around the corner, many of us are getting ready to spend more time outside working in the garden and doing yardwork. While it’s a great way to enjoy the warmer weather, gardening can also put extra stress on your back, neck, and joints if you’re not careful.

Here are a few simple reminders to help protect your spine while working in the yard:

• Bend with your knees, not your back when lifting bags of soil, pots, or tools.
• Keep objects close to your body when lifting to reduce strain on your back.
• Avoid twisting while lifting—turn your whole body instead.
• Take breaks and stretch if you’re working for long periods.
• Use smaller loads rather than trying to lift too much at once.

Spring is also a great time to tune up your spine before the busy yardwork and gardening season begins. A chiropractic adjustment can help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and make it easier for your body to handle the extra physical activity.

If you’ve been thinking about coming in for an adjustment, now is a great time to get ahead of any aches and pains before they start.

After more than six months of repairs, Olive Chapel Rd. is finally reopening on Monday, February 16th, 2025!

We know the closure has been frustrating—especially for those coming from that side of town—and we truly appreciate your patience and support while we worked through it with a smile.

We are planning on being open with delayed start tomorrow and fingers are crossed that we will have normal hours the rest of the week! While some people might be upset, Dr. Justin is kinda happy to see the office in the "dry slot".

He used the one human powered shovel to make sure his driveway was good to get to work this week. One picture is downtown Apex and the driveway is in Pittsboro. Crazy how big of a difference.

We know that Wake county will probably close school for a couple extra days, so please feel free to bring your kids to your appointments. We are a family place!

Just like Sarah said, family is our middle name at Performance Family Chiropractic. With all of our staff out due to the weather, I had my wonderful wife and kids helping out at the office today. It also happened to be our wedding anniversary! Who would have thought life would be this crazy just eight years later? So thankful for their help today. ❤️

We are happy to let everyone know that we are opened now! The phone is ringing and appointments are filling back in once people realized the roads are not too bad. Send us a quick text or call if you want on the schedule.

As many of you know, we are expecting a winter weather event here in North Carolina. We wanted to reach out to let you know that we will keep everyone informed about whether we remain open or need to close as conditions develop.
We will do our best to email all patients with updates, but please also follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the quickest office updates. You can find us on Facebook by searching Performance Family Chiropractic, and on Instagram at

At this time, it appears that we will be closed on Monday and will have delayed hours on Tuesday. Weather can be difficult to predict around here, so changes are always possible. We will do our best to reach out to patients individually, but please continue to check your email and our social media pages for updates.

We also ask that you do your best to offer alternative appointment times for the following week if needed. Our front desk team is working very hard to help everyone navigate this smoothly and stay on track with their chiropractic care. Appointment times will fill up very fast. If we do have to shut down for even just a few days, there will be hundreds of patients to contact and reschedule, so any flexibility you can offer would be incredibly helpful and greatly appreciated.
