Since 2004 McCoy Jones has been offering solutions to individuals, families and business in the Kiski Valley and surrounding areas. Originally founded in June 10, 2002 as Versarias Insurance and Safety Associates and our company name change to McCoy Jones Insurance (MJI) in June 10, 2016 when we opened our office in Apollo, PA for client convenience and to help better serve our large client base. We are an Independent agency that provides multiple carriers and products to fit your needs. We Save our client's thousands of dollars per year while providing them with the best benefits to fit our client's needs.

PSA: Folks if you're getting letters from your supplemental carrier do not disregard.

Couple of things.

Social Security has updated their system so you may or may not be in your actual county.

Some carriers have changed their county grouping.

Why does this matter? Some counties have different premium(s) co-pays and Part B Premium give back.

If Social Security has you in the wrong county all kinds of fun things have the potential to happen.. up to and including disenrollment.

So check the letter if you got one. You can contact the carrier or us.

As we head into the last week of 2025 I want to thank you all for another banner year.

Folks.. 2 things

1: We closed at 4 pm. The roads in Indiana county are terrible. Multiple accidents. 56 is ok to 210 than it's the usual ice to Shelocta. Let the snow plows/salt trucks do their thing.

2: Holiday Schedule. We have the opportunity for a long weekend and we're taking it. We had a banner AEP this year and we're plum wore out.

PENNIE enrollment for a January 1, 2026 has been extended until December 31st.

Wednesday 23rd through Friday 26th: CLOSED.

When it's you birthday and you get presents, homemade pizza rolls and lava cake (which I happily demolished between appointments) it makes it a great day!

We are still one day away from the end of Annual Enrollment for Individual Health Insurance for a January 1, 2026 effective date.

We'll return to somewhat normal walkin Notary hours mid next week on the Apollo Tag and Title side of the business. Call first.

Tis the season.. half way through our 16th AEP for both Medicare and Individual (AACA)..it's a wild one.

Medicare: plans are going out in some areas. You may have gotten a letter from the carrier. Some may get "crosswalked" into a new plan some may not.

Pay attention to your co-pays. Per day in patient hospital is not the same as per day! Check your drugs! Tiers are changing. Are you Dr's still in network? That is a big one this year.

Please.. stop picking plans based on what the carrier is offering as ancillary. It may sound fabulous until you find out none of your providers are in network.

Individual (ACA): for most tax credits are still available.. do not not look at getting coverage because your friends friend said they're gone.

Your anticipated earnings must match at the end of the year. There's still time to reconcile what you thought you would make vs what you YTD earnings actually are. Avoid that tax surprise when you file your taxes in the spring.

GLP-1 is available now on Amazon Pharmacy. Check to see what your savings can be. Not Medicare eligible. Individual and group insurance eligible.

We've been doing this a long time. We're local and in a brick and mortar building and accessible.

Folks. I given this a lot of thought. Once upon a time when I decided to switch careers and build the business back up on the Insurance side... I ate a lot of pbj sandwiches to make sure my fur kids didn't go without.

It was hard and I had (still do) a great support system to help me.

Times have changed and it's kinda a sh overall with day to day expenses for everybody at every income level..

I contemplated donating to the local food banks but I have been seeing all of the people stepping up to cover the humans.

Long story short I bought cat/dog food and it will be on-site by Monday November 3rd.

All donations will be greatly appreciated!
