Today’s EMH Community Block Party was amazing! We want to take a moment to say thank you! Thank you to our community for its unwavering support of Ellett Memorial Hospital. This yearly event is truly our way of giving back to our community and expressing our heartfelt thanks for your support. Thank you to our vendors for choosing to come participate in our Block Party. This event would not be what it is without you. Thank you to our local high school students: to the FFA for helping set up this morning, to the FBLA and After-Prom Committee for serving as food vendors today, and to the cheerleaders for bringing a unique and fun fundraiser to today’s festivities! Lastly, thank you to the Ellett employees who volunteered their time to make today such a successful event. The photos for this post are just a small snapshot of today’s fun. Be on the lookout in the coming days for a reel showing-casing more pictures and video from today. We will see you at next year’s Block Party!

Ahead of Saturday's Block Party, we want let attendees know that they're welcome to bring lawn chairs to the event. We will have a number of picnic tables and straw bales available for seating, but we want to ensure that everyone who attends can be as comfortable as possible and able to enjoy the Block Party to the fullest. If you plan on coming to the EMH Community Block Party this Saturday and plan on staying for a spell, please feel free to bring a lawn chair along!

Today we're spotlighting Dipped by Myah, a local vendor from Deepwater, MO. Dipped by Myah offers customizable cake-pops and other chocolate-dipped treats. Guess what?! It's Block Party Week! We're kickstarting our final week of Vendor Spotlight posts with Gateway to Hope!

Gateway to Hope is an organization that supports individuals needing help with breast screening by providing direct financial assistance to those who are over-income for Medicaid and other safety net programs. In their own words:

Our mission is simple yet powerful:
to remove barriers to affordable, timely, quality breast healthcare, and empower people to live full and healthy lives.

We believe that access to affordable, quality breast healthcare should never depend on where you live, the color of your skin, or how much money you make.

Timely access to care, including testing for earlier detection and more effective treatment, is crucial. Too many women can’t afford that care. It doesn’t have to be this way—and we aim to change it.
