Xeomin® (IncobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved treatment used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe upper facial lines (frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet) in adults. With these winter months, DRY skin is huge for all of us here in the Midwest.

Now, I’m sure if you have been a client of mine, you have  heard me say to double cleanse your face in the morning and at night! Now, as this needs to be done, I do NOT want you to do it with hot water!!!

Hot wanter damages skin and here is how:

Strips natural oils: Hot water removes the skin's natural oils, called sebum, which can lead to dryness, itchiness, and sensitivity.

Breaks down skin barrier: Hot water can weaken the skin's barrier, which protects it from irritants and allergens.

Inflames skin: Hot water can cause redness, itching, and peeling, similar to a sunburn.

And

Hot water can also increase the skin's pH level, which can disrupt the skin barrier and increase water loss.

So, what should you do to protect your skin??

Take lukewarm showers, Keep showers short, Use moisturizer after showering, and Avoid hot water when washing your face. People with dry or oily skin should be especially careful about the temperature of the water they use.
