Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with YOPD for years, this group is for you. 💙 Come as you are—you’re among friends.

Let’s connect, share, and support each other. 💬

Those diagnosed at a younger age often face unique challenges—juggling PD with family, careers, finances, and long-term planning. That’s why we created this space: a safe, welcoming place to ask questions, share your story, and find strength in community.

🙌 YOPD mentors will be there to offer guidance, encouragement, and real understanding. You are not alone. We’re in this together. 💪

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with YOPD for a while, this group is for you. Come as you are—you’re among friends. 💙

Let’s connect, share, and support one another.

While Parkinson’s disease brings physical challenges, those diagnosed at a younger age often face unique concerns related to family, career, finances, and navigating life long-term with PD. Connecting with others who are close in age and share similar experiences can be incredibly helpful.

This is a safe space to share your story, ask questions, and find support along your journey. YOPD mentors are here for you whenever you need guidance, encouragement, or simply someone who understands.

I had the chance to represent the Young Onset group today at the WPA’s Newly Diagnosed event in Weston! We had our table set up and I was able to share my personal story on the lived experience panel.

Thanks Wisconsin Parkinson Association for your continued support and care for all of us on our PD journey- and letting me work alongside you!

🥰What a day!!

We had the privilege of partnering with Wisconsin Parkinson Association at their yearly Parkinson Symposium today! Our YOPD in Women WI group had a table to share our resources and talk about how to start support groups if you can’t find what you need in your area.

Another amazing NEW opportunity this year was that during registration you had the chance to check a box that you were a person under 55 with PD - young onset Parkinson disease. If you checked that box, you were given a sticker on your nametag to sit at specified tables with other people with YOPD and meet others in our age/stage of life!! THEY HAD 45 PEOPLE CHECK THE BOX FOR THIS FIRST YEAR!!!

As always, my heart was filled for getting to spend time with my favorite coaches from Rock Steady Boxing (Calissa Fae Kari Merrill Becky Wrobel) and my favorite movement joyologist Empowered By Movement who were big hits during the movement breaks!🤩

As much as I dislike my disease, it is an honor to work with all of these people who have a similar passion- to bring awareness, to bring resources of health, exercise and foods, and to keep us moving toward ending PD!!

Keep your 👀 here for news of next years symposium date😋
