BIG congratulations to Barb for her performance at the 2025 Wisconsin State Dancesport Championship! 💐🌟
At age 62, she realized the years of computer work, three babies (including twins) and aging took a toll on her body and her goals. It was time to seek help for her “rounded shoulders and lax core muscles despite regular exercise.”
“I could not find or maintain the posture needed for ballroom dance, so I reached out to David. Our sessions quickly turned into rehabilitation for my chronic back pain (which I just powered through, assuming it was arthritis) and a shoulder injury.”
Barb trusted the process. After proper assessment we were able to identify her needed areas of mobility and stability. Once she had the level of stability needed, then we could focus more heavily on strength.
Then the real fun began. Now we could do sport-specific training by increasing the complexity of exercises and training to enhance the movements she’d be doing while dancing.
Now it’s showtime!
The competition was held in Milwaukee at the Pfister where she competed in American Smooth and American Rhythm both closed and open competitions. She competed in the Ladies Senior 1 Division (age 35 and older) and had much success –
🥇1st place: Open Intermediate Bronze Foxtrot; Open Full Bronze Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz; Intermediate Bronze Rumba

🥉3rd place: Open Intermediate Bronze V. Waltz; Intermediate Bronze Cha Cha, Rumba; Full Bronze Rumba, CHa Cha, Swing, Bolero, Mambo; Open Intermediate Bronze Swing; Open Full Bronze Rumba, Swing & Bolero
