Congratulations to Dr. Scott Parrish and the bronchoscopy team on performing the first Aliya PEF ablation treatment this morning! The team was the first in the state to do so! The Aliya system is a tool for surgical ablation using pulse electric fields, which are an ablative energy that does not rely on extreme temperatures to destabilize cancer cells. It damages them beyond repair and allows the body to eliminate the targeted cells. Because Aliya ablation does not rely on extreme temperatures, the healthy tissue and sensitive structure surrounding the area are preserved. This is a great step forward in cancer treatment. Congrats again to Dr. Parrish and his bronchoscopy team!
