There comes a day when your love isn’t enough to shield them from disappointment, from hurt, from the sting of being human. And so you stand back, heart in your throat, watching them stumble, struggle, and slowly find their own way.

Every instinct in you wants to swoop in — to fix it, to hold them close, to make it all better. But you can’t. And that helplessness breaks you in ways you never saw coming.

Yet hidden in that breaking is something fierce and sacred: the quiet work of trust. Trust in them, in what you’ve poured into them, in their ability to rise and discover their own strength.

Because as much as we ache to keep them safe, our greater calling is to help them become.

And sometimes the most powerful protection we can give is the space to grow wings, even when it hurts us to watch them fly. ❤️

Life's storms do not fall with equal force upon us. We look out at the world and see others facing challenges, often assuming we understand the weight of their burden. But the profound truth is that we don't all experience the same rain. For some, the storm is a minor inconvenience, easily weathered under the shelter of privilege and support. For others, it's a relentless downpour that soaks them to the bone, with nothing to protect them but their own strength.

This inescapable inequality is a powerful reminder that the world is not fair, and empathy is not a matter of shared experience, but of radical imagination. It is a heartfelt call to be kinder, slower to judge, and quicker to help.

When we choose to offer a hand instead of an opinion, we honor the humanity in others. We acknowledge that we will never truly know the weight of their rain, but we can, with a little compassion, help them find a moment of shelter. 🌿
