I have a special request from a customer :

Looking for a BOBWHITE quail mount to BORROW for a funeral that is located in Appomattox tomorrow evening .
The person who passed away had a Passion for quail hunting and the family would love to have one displayed at the funeral. Unfortunately , the family does not have any mounts of their own to display.

They would like a mount that’s not very old and in good condition.

If you have a quail mount and would love to help out this family .
Please contact Robinsons funeral home or myself .

I wanted to inform my customers that on Feb. 5th, 2026, I will be having a major surgery to remove my thyroid.
Over the past few years , I have battled hyperthyroidism , also known as “Graves’ disease“.
I struggle every day with being extremely tired , short of breath, shakiness and feeling anxious.
This had affected me some, in working in the shop.

The Dr and I agreed that it is for the best to surgically remove my thyroid . This is my first ever major surgery and I’m praying all will go well.
The recovery time for this surgery is atleast 6 weeks . I can’t pickup anything over 20lbs or do any activities that are strenuous .
So for the recovery period , I will only be working on mounts.

🦌🦌As of today, (1-25-26) , I will be placing a hold on any intakes until at least mid-April. 🦌🦌

I will make another post once I am able to start accepting more work .

Complete reconstruction of a bear eye .

Somehow this bears eye was either cut out or shot . There was no top or bottom eyelid and the corner of the eye missing . About a nickel size area to fix .

Unfortunately, I forgot to get a before picture of the hide but remembered after I did it’s finish work .

The first picture is after I reconstructed the eye lids and added textured detail.

The second picture is the finished product after it’s painted .

On this Thanksgiving, we pause to honor the ones who can’t be home today. 🙏

While many of us gather around warm tables,
laughing, sharing food, and holding our families close —
there are brave men and women spending this day
far from the comfort of home.

Some sit in uniform instead of pajamas,
in mess halls instead of dining rooms,
surrounded by fellow service members
instead of their children, parents, or spouses.

Yet even in the middle of sacrifice,
they bow their heads, hold hands,
and find a moment of gratitude.

Gratitude for one another.
Gratitude for freedom.
Gratitude for the country they love.

Today, we remember them —
those who stand guard so we can sit safely.
Those who miss holidays so we don’t have to.
Those whose courage gives us the life we’re blessed to live.

To every soldier, every veteran,
and every military family carrying an empty seat at the table today:

We appreciate you.

It’s been a busy week …
