George Bertram Thomas Sr., 90, of
Aquasco, Maryland formerly of Brandywine, Maryland,
transitioned to his eternal rest at
home on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
George was born on April 25, 1936,
in Charles County, Maryland to the
late Parran A. Washington and
Peter B. Thomas.
On September 3, 1955, George married the love of his life Clara Mae Adams in Holy Matrimony. From their union they had 7 children, George Thomas Jr.,
John Thomas, (Charlene), Carol Carter (Rowland), Mary Gant, William Thomas (Judith), Joseph Thomas (Tracie) and Tammy Johnson (deceased).
They spent over 65 wonderful years together until her untimely passing
on December 28, 2020. Family and friends are taking comfort in knowing they are now reunited and George is
now at peace with his beloved wife
and our Lord and Savior.
George loved going to church, he was a faithful member of St. Dominic's Church located in Aquasco, Maryland.
George was a plumber and construction worker by profession and worked for many years as a farmer.
George was full of laughter. He loved to hit the road going to Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot where everybody knew him. He loved tools, gadgets, yard equipment, etc. You would always find him on Saturday's at the Farmer's market, Calvert County Market, and any yard sale along the way. On Sundays, you would find him in church and after church outside laughing it up with the unofficial St. Dominic's Men's club. George loved talking to anyone who would listen. He was outgoing, friendly, and was the salesman of the year.
He knew and loved the Lord. He had
a devilish smile and infectious laugh.
He loved good food, listening to old music, taking great vacations, he also loved history and was a dog lover. George's final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
He told his children he loved them several times every day and thanked them daily for watching over and taking care of him. When he lost his voice and could no longer speak, he would whisper it. His strong sense of independence, faith, and strength will forever be with us. He will be greatly missed.
George leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Doris Makle and Joyce Farmer, sibling preceding his death was Mary Evelyn Robinson. He also leaves to cherish his memory, 9 grandchildren
