One of the two stacks above our powerhouse has been out of use for decades and, due to its condition, will be carefully removed over the next several weeks. As part of this process, we’ll be salvaging a few hundred bricks from the original 1909 structure and making them available to community members as commemorative keepsakes.

Since 1909, we've been proud to call St. Bernard Parish home, invest in our community and help drive our local economy. Yesterday, we kicked off our biggest investment ever in Arabi, and the largest capital project in our company’s history: the first phase of a $785 million modernization of our refinery. The investment means we can continue to provide more than 500 local jobs and make Domino® Sugar right here in Arabi for generations to come.

We were thrilled to break ground today on a state-of-the-art Filtration Building, the first phase of a modernization project marking a huge investment in the future of our refinery. As we mark our 117th year of making Domino® Sugar here in Arabi, the project reflects our commitment to modernize operations, enhance reliability for our customers and conserve water and energy—all while continuing to be the employer of choice for hundreds of people.

Happy Earth Day! 🌍 Thanks to our employee volunteers who rolled up their sleeves today to support the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana's Oyster Shell Recycling Program! Our team shoveled recycled oyster shells into bags that will go back into the water to build new oyster reefs, creating vital fish habitats and protecting shorelines from storm surge. We were happy to have some friends from the New Orleans Pelicans join us today!

Thanks as well to our employees who volunteered to spruce up our neighborhood!

After 36 years of service, Sandy Cosse is retiring from our team. While she spent most of her career in our Finance and HR departments, Sandy’s impact extended well beyond her position. Colleagues across our refinery relied on her expertise, reliability and exceptional dedication. She also played an important role in supporting our community partnerships, bringing the same care and pride to those initiatives as she did to her daily responsibilities. Sandy has made a lasting difference at our plant, and she will be greatly missed. Please join us in congratulating Sandy and wishing her all the best in retirement!
