RRAP is a multifaceted effort for the community of Aransas Pass to reach out to those that share the same geographical area yet struggle to participate and contribute to the health of the community. The target group is those in the community that have been dis-enfranchised, physically, spiritually and emotionally bankrupted and invisible to many in the area. We plan to offer a twelve step program based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A critical part of the recovery process is realizing without a change of heart none of us will be able to handle the struggles of life in this fallen world. Life never lacks for improvement—in us, in our relationships, in just about everything. But all our brave stabs at getting better, if they ever change anything, are incomplete at best, complete failures at worst. Sometimes much worse. Unless . . .The gospel of Jesus Christ is the great “unless” of life—both for those who already believe (but can’t believe the messes they’re still capable of making), as well as those who don’t yet believe but just know their way isn’t working. First Baptist Church Aransas Pass. Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM. Starting at 6:00 we will offer a free light dinner. Teaching begins at 6:30 PM. Leaders will start by presenting one of the twelve steps as defined in the book Steps. The book is co-authored by Pastor Matt Chandler who serves as Lead Pastor of Teaching at The Village Church in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and counselor Michael Snetzer whom serves as Recovery Groups Pastor at The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas. Beginning at approximately 7:00 PM everyone will be broken down into groups by gender. These small groups will be led by selected and vetted leaders which have experience with addictions and the twelve step concept and a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Following a time of group discussion and prayer leaders and support staff will be available until 8:00 PM for personal conversations.
