骨刺
骨贅,俗稱骨刺,是一種骨質增生性的病變,通常發生於年長者身上。骨贅通常出現於關節兩端,或者活動度較大的脊柱骨邊緣。

骨贅形成的原因,主要是骨膜受到過份刺激,或者骨骼的生長平衡受到破壞,令骨骼過度生長。

骨刺不是一個醫學上確當的名词,因為它既非完全由骨构成,也不尖锐如刺。醫學上的正確名稱應該是骨疣。 骨刺是關節因種種原因造成軟骨的磨损、破壞,促成骨頭本身的修补、硬化与增生,是一種自然的老化现象,一般長骨刺就表示此人的脊椎進入老化楷段。然而,骨刺並非老人家的專利,由於工作型態改变,許多人必须久坐、久站,若是加上姿势不正確,很容易年纪輕輕就使脊椎提早產生退化现象,而引發骨刺的出現。

長骨刺的原因
骨刺是脊椎退化过程中所伴随的一種现象,随着年龄的增長,人体的脊椎构造也會跟着退化,當骨与軟组織接壤的地方因長期承受壓力、拉力、損傷,造成脊椎与脊椎間的被骨渐渐失去水分与弹性,致使骨骼出现退化性改变,這種骨骼退化性改變就會引致骨質增生,而形成骨刺。另外,過度運動和不當的運動也會造成骨骼及軟组織過度磨損,而長出骨刺。

長骨刺的症状
骨刺不見得一定會產生症状,要看是否有壓迫到神經根或是脊椎,如果没有的話就不會有什麽引人不適的症狀產生。相反的,如果骨刺剛好壓迫到附近的神經根或是壓迫到脊椎,就可能會有身体僵硬不能靈活彎身、疼痛、红腫、麻痹、關節變形、肌肉無力等症狀。

容易長骨剌的人士
人体脊椎在長時間反復使用下很容易發生退化情形,由於年纪的關系,中老年人較一般年輕人容易長骨刺。不過,随着生活工作型態改變,像一些必後久坐、久站,長時間维持同一个姿勢或是姿勢不正確及反復使用某個關節的工作族群,如家庭主婦、老師、運動員, 辦工室工作者、電腦族群、工廠作業員,等等,都可能因為過度使用及使用不當,造成關節部位的骨骼与軟组織過度磨損。因此,骨刺可以說是每個人都可能發生。

容易發生骨刺的部位
人体的關節活動久了也容易發生病變。骨刺一般容易發生於活動較频的關節,由於這些關節長時間反復使用,因此很容易發生磨損与退化的現象。而身体容易誘發骨刺生長的地方包括頸椎、腰椎、膝關節、脚跟,另外,手指跟手肘也是骨刺容易發生的部位。

骨刺的并發症
骨刺會引起坐骨神經痛、椎間盘突出、腰椎狹窄症、退化性膝關節炎等并發症,這些并發症会導致患者生活上的不適,甚至影响患者的生活質量。輕微的并發症狀,可以休息、接受護康治療, 嚴重的就需要脊椎神經專科醫生的診療, 盡量避免手術, 但在無法可施的情況下, 手術便是最後的選擇。

骨刺的预防
预防骨刺的發生其實不難,盡可能避免長時間久坐、久站,如果無法避免可適時活動筋骨;平時也應注意坐姿及站姿,避免因為不正確的姿勢,增加腰椎負荷;養成有规律的運動習惯;日常的飲食對预防骨刺的發生也能有所幫助,因此可以多多攝取富含抗氧化劑的食物(anti-oxidant);而生物類黄酮(維生素P) 又稱 bioflavonoid 以预防自由基(free radical)的破壞、减缓發炎反應、加速運動傷害的復原及强化膠質的形成,也能經由補充這些物質達到预防的目的。有關生物類黄酮(維生素P) , 請參考黃醫師有關文章.

After WHO just announced coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, everyone should be caution on personal hygiene and avoid going to crowded tight space area. Please pay attention on following suggestions.
1st priority is personal hygiene. Please wash your hands more often and avoid touching the face, eyes and mouth. Also avoid touching public items and objects.
2nd, Covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze with your elbow or a tissue will greatly reduce the number of germs that are able to spread to people and objects around you. Wear a mask if you are sick and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
3rd, Avoid going to crowded public area. Putting a mask on only if you are in a crowded tight space area without choice, such as the elevator in hospital, medical building and crowded area. Although the mask cannot 100% prevents the virus pass thru, it is better than no protection.
4th, Do not rush to the grocery store to fight for food and water. We have no food or water shortage.
Stay calm, use common sense and be healthy.
