Hello my fellow OTs! I’d to connect with those of you working with babies or hoping to grow your infant feeding and tongue-tie skills.

I’m creating a focused infant tongue-tie training program for OTs, and I’m currently gathering input from clinicians. I want to hear what you wish you learned, where you feel stuck, and what support would truly make a difference in your practice.

If you’re interested in expanding your skillset — or simply curious about what this training could offer — I’d love to talk with you.

DM me anytime. 💕

Or send me an email info@oralties.com.

Let’s connect!

I always remind parents: not everything is an issue.
And not every day needs to be a “therapy” day.

Some days, the most therapeutic thing you can do is nothing structured at all—just be with your baby, follow their lead, and breathe for a second.

Every child is different. Some babies do need consistent support, and those families should absolutely continue the work. But many of our little ones today are bombarded with constant input, tasks, programs, and “shoulds.” Parents are stretched so thin trying to keep up with it all.

A colleague once told me, “Practice makes progress, not perfection,” and that has stayed with me forever.

As clinicians, we can always find something to work on. That’s our job.

It’s also our job to zoom out, give grace, and remember that kids deserve space to just be kids—and parents deserve space to simply enjoy them.

Real food = real development. 🤩

It’s not just about calories — every bite helps your baby’s mouth learn how to work!

Chewing builds jaw strength, tongue coordination, and the foundation for speech and swallowing.

If your baby is struggling, ask questions, get support, and don’t wait and see.

Red flags:

🚩 Can only eat purées
🚩 Gags, coughs when eating food
🚩 Does not swallow foods
🚩 Very limited repertoire of foods
🚩 Refuses foods
🚩 Prefers sucking out of pouches
🚩 Open mouth chewing
🚩 Takes a long time to eat
🚩 Eyes get red and watery when swallowing
🚩 Phlegmy and “wet” sounds during or after feeds

Babies aren’t lazy — they’re communicating. 💬

If your baby struggles to feed, pops on and off, falls asleep mid-feed, or takes forever to finish… that’s not personality.

A baby who can’t feed well isn’t being stubborn or sleepy — something is in the way.

Maybe tension. Maybe a tongue or lip tie. Maybe fatigue. But never laziness.

So when someone says, ‘your baby’s just lazy,’ don’t settle for that answer.

Get curious. Get help. And get your baby thriving. 💪

That’s exactly what I teach inside my course, Your Baby Has a Tongue Tie, Now What? — a simple, step-by-step guide to understanding what’s really going on and what to do next.

Because your baby isn’t lazy — they’re trying to tell you something.

So many parents are told two extremes when their baby is diagnosed with a tongue-tie or lip-tie:

➡️ “Do surgery right away.”
➡️ “It’s fine — do nothing.”

But neither of those answers your biggest question:
“What does my baby actually need right now?”

My client’s story is proof that having a clear plan — and the right team — changes everything. With coordinated care from an OT, LC, dentist, and chiropractor, her baby went from struggling at the breast… to thriving in all areas of development, not just breastfeeding.

✨ My new parent course, “Your Baby Has a Tongue-Tie, Now What?”, gives you the exact roadmap every parent should have before making surgery decisions.

You’ll learn:
👶 How the mouth and tongue actually work
🤝 How to build the right support team
👩‍⚕️ What to know before and after surgery (if it’s needed)
💡 Plus, common myths and roadblocks no one warns you about

Don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed and second-guessing — get the clarity you and your baby deserve from the start.

⭐️6 important things I’ve learned from my nephew.⭐️

1. If he doesn’t want something he will yell no, scream, and run away. As someone running a business, I always say yes even when I mean no bc I don’t want to let anyone down. Next time, I’ll do what he does. 🤣

2. When he wakes up, he likes to linger in bed for a bit to play and cuddle. I always feel like I need to be doing something productive. I’m going to slow down a bit and play more. 💕

3. When he encounters a problem he will quietly try to solve it. If he can’t, he will ask for help by rubbing his belly. I try to do everything by myself. Next time, I’ll rub my belly. Come help me. 🥰

4. The second he hears music or anything with a beat for that matter, he will start dancing. I’m always worried what other people might think. Screw it, from now on if I want to do something wild, I’m doing it. 💃🕺

5. He loves being outside to play with dirt, mud, water, rocks, leaves, and sticks. He reminds me that there is more to life than working and staring at my phone. It’s time to get dirty!
🌎🌱🌸💦🌈

6. When he’s happy, he will smile, laugh, clap his hands, and stomp his feet. I spend more time worrying about what I need to do tomorrow instead of celebrating all the moments of right now and today. 🎉🥳👏🎊🙌

He’s only 1.5 years old but his intelligence and curiosity are beyond his years. I hope we can all learn a little bit from him and truly stop to smell the roses. 🌹

All jokes aside, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. When I worked for other clinics or agencies, I couldn’t do what I wanted to.

Is it hard? Absolutely. But a lot of people helped me get here.
For that, I am thankful.

I’d love to hear how you all survive running a business. Comment some silly stories below 🥰😂🤩

Business Advice from Dad 101

1. If it doesn’t work out, you have dad. ❤️

2. Not all your clients will be happy. Deal with it and move on.

3. Some clients will complain. Refund them and move on.

4. There will always be issues. Deal with it and move on.

5. If you lose sleep, you need to find a solution within 1-3 days.

6. Your health comes first.

7. It will never be perfect. Deal with it and move on. 😂

8. It’s a lot of work. Good luck.

My dad has had a few businesses of his own, in addition to his career. He’s been through it all. He’s wise. He’s goofy. He’s so weird. 🤪 He’s talented. And he’s intelligent in the quirkiest ways. I trust his advice and I hope you all can find some guidance in it as well. 💕

Happy Friday, fam!

👶🏼 Whenever I meet a new client, I always ask them, “show me what you think tummy time is.” 7 out of 10 times they will flip the baby over midair and plop them on their tummy.

It’s cute. It’s funny. But it also tells me we are not teaching parents enough.

💕 Tummy time includes movement, interacting back and forth, taking breaks, cuddling, smiling, giggling, with toys, without toys, on the floor, on your body, singing, cooing, and most of all bonding.

So, your homework today is to get on the floor and roll around with your little one.

⭐️ So many parents are told picky eating is normal. But before you accept this nonsense statement, ask yourself these questions:

1. Does my baby avoid chewing high textured foods?
2. Does my baby prefer puree, mashed, or only easy to swallow foods?
3. Does my baby spit everything out?
4. Does my baby gag or cough while eating?
5. Does my baby have a hard time swallowing food?
6. Does my baby pocket food, meaning food sits in the mouth and they are not swallowing it?
7. Does my baby need a sip of water after every bite?
8. Does my baby chew with his mouth open?
9. Does my baby thrust her tongue out when swallowing?
10. Does my gut tell me something is off with my baby’s feeding?

If you answered yes to any of these, don’t take no for an answer. Don’t accept that it’s normal. Don’t ignore it. And don’t wait and see.

Wait and see and do nothing is for baking bread not raising a child. 😂 Get informed.

Hearing your baby has a tongue-tie can feel overwhelming — but you don’t have to figure it out alone. The early steps you take can make all the difference.

My second upcoming course is designed to guide parents like you through every stage with clarity and confidence. So many families are told to just do surgery and that is not a solution by itself.

When babies struggle to sleep, it’s often more than “just a phase.”

Poor feeding, poor breathing, and body tension can all make rest and sleep harder. These aren’t always obvious to parents — and without the right evaluation, the root cause can be missed.

A proper assessment can identify what’s really going on and help your baby sleep (and feed) better.
