In the wake of the recent fire, our community has once again shown its strength, resilience, and deep commitment to one another. The Arcata Chamber of Commerce is proud to be working alongside the City of Arcata, Humboldt Made, Pay It Forward Humboldt, Playhouse Arts, North Coast SBDC, and the Arcata Lodging Alliance to develop a coordinated and thoughtful approach to fire relief and recovery.

Together, we are creating a cohesive plan that includes needs assessment surveys for businesses and individuals directly impacted by the fire, as well as a centralized website that will serve as a hub for recovery resources, donation opportunities, and community benefit events.

One of the most visible and meaningful components of this effort is the Arcata Fire Relief Benefit Weekend, taking place January 31 – February 1. During this weekend, local businesses throughout Arcata will come together to collectively fundraise, with each business hosting individual events or promotions benefiting organizations or individuals of their choosing. The weekend will kick off with the Arcata Farmers Market and continue across our downtown and broader community.

The weekend will culminate on Sunday, February 1, at noon, with a Hero’s Parade on the Plaza, honoring the dedication and service of our first responders and those who stepped up in a time of need.

At its heart, this effort is about more than fundraising. It is about bringing our community together, showing support for those impacted, sustaining our local businesses, and demonstrating the spirit of collaboration that defines Arcata. We are grateful to each of you for being part of a business community that consistently shows up for the greater good.

One of our participants had a special request to make candy, specifically chocolate-covered cherries for everyone, and of course we made it happen 🍒🍫

It was such a joy turning their idea into reality and sharing something sweet made with care. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to honor our participants’ wishes and create experiences that bring everyone together during the holidays.

✨ It’s Giving Tuesday! ✨

If you’ve been wanting to support ADHC of Mad River, today is the perfect day to do it — even $1 truly helps. Every single donation shows our participants that their community cares, and every share helps us reach someone who might give, too.

No gift is too small. No support goes unnoticed.

Thank you for lifting up local elders and adults with disabilities. 💙
