Since moving from Minnesota to the West Coast in 2010, my diet and life has drastically changed. I went from being a sugar-crazed, junk food master to a heath food nut (or granola as my family likes to call it). Slowly but surely over the past 5+ years I've transitioned out of bad eating habits into a more nutrient dense, whole foods diet. Instead of Dr. Pepper as my go to drink, it's now water or
tea. In the fall of 2015 I decided to take my passion for cooking and nutrition to a new level. I'm currently studying to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through the Nutritional Therapy Association in Washington. The focus is on eating a balanced, nutrient-dense whole foods diet. It's turning to nutrition instead of medication to cure your ailments and help you achieve your optimal health goals. The purpose of this page is to share my experiments and knowledge as I pursue this next chapter in life. My goal is to make eating healthier simple. I've never believed in trendy fad diets because that's all they are, a trendy fad. I want healthy eating to become a long-term change that you can always maintain. I'm determined to make it easy, affordable and sustainable. How you can help? Give me your input! I'd love to hear more about your shopping habits, go to meals, favorite foods, things you want to improve, questions you have on nutrition or anything. Practice makes perfect and I need a lot of practice... :)
