Expected Death ~ When someone dies, the first thing to do is nothing. Don't run out and call the nurse. Don't pick up the phone. Take a deep breath and be present to the magnitude of the moment.

There's a grace to being at the bedside of someone you love as they make their transition out of this world. At the moment they take their last breath, there's an incredible sacredness in the space. The veil between the worlds opens.

We're so unprepared and untrained in how to deal with death that sometimes a kind of panic response kicks in. "They're dead!"

We knew they were going to die, so their being dead is not a surprise. It's not a problem to be solved. It's very sad, but it's not cause to panic.

If anything, their death is cause to take a deep breath, to stop, and be really present to what's happening. If you're at home, maybe put on the kettle and make a cup of tea.

Sit at the bedside and just be present to the experience in the room. What's happening for you? What might be happening for them? What other presences are here that might be supporting them on their way? Tune into all the beauty and magic.

Pausing gives your soul a chance to adjust, because no matter how prepared we are, a death is still a shock. If we kick right into "do" mode, and call 911, or call the hospice, we never get a chance to absorb the enormity of the event.

Give yourself five minutes or 10 minutes, or 15 minutes just to be. You'll never get that time back again if you don't take it now.

After that, do the smallest thing you can. Call the one person who needs to be called. Engage whatever systems need to be engaged, but engage them at the very most minimal level. Move really, really, really, slowly, because this is a period where it's easy for body and soul to get separated.

Our bodies can gallop forwards, but sometimes our souls haven't caught up. If you have an opportunity to be quiet and be present, take it. Accept and acclimatize and adjust to what's happening. Then, as the train starts rolling, and all the things that happen after a death kick in, you'll be better prepared.

You won't get a chance to catch your breath later on. You need to do it now.

Being present in the moments after death is an incredible gift to yourself, it's a gift to the people you're with, and it's a gift to the person who's just died. They're just a hair's breath away. They're just starting their new journey in the world without a body. If you keep a calm space around their body, and in the room, they're launched in a more beautiful way. It's a service to both sides of the veil.

"What if our religion was each other. If our practice was our life. If prayer, our words. What if the temple was the Earth. If forests were our church. If holy water--the rivers, lakes, and ocean. What if meditation was our relationships. If the teacher was life. If wisdom was self-knowledge. If love was the center of our being."

We now enter the times of the shaking. What can be shaken will be removed, so that what cannot be shaken may remain. We begin to see that our personality can be shaken, our emotions, our minds, our bodies can be shaken. Thrown back into that which is never shaken, we taste the eternal radiance of the Self.

Find that in you which cannot be shaken. This is the crisis, and the opportunity, of our time. The crisis is not race, or gender, or disease, or economic woe. The crisis is an invitation. An invitation to distinguish the changing from the unchanging.

In the silent core of your heart, discover the unshakeable. Discover the pure consciousness of the Self, in whom we are One. One human family. One divine sun with eight billion human rays. Touch the imperishable blue sky beyond the passing clouds. You are That.
This is not a belief, but a direct experience, attained not by philosophy, or science, or politics, but by tapping the original seed, in the stillness of meditation. This is not "spiritual by-passing." It is touching the ground. The real. The eternal.

We don't have to rise to the occasion, but fall. Fall inward. Collapse. Touch Being. The most fruitful work we can do, is to Be.
I am afraid. I am uncertain. I am weak. But I Am. For just a moment, let me place no noun, no adjective after the verb. Here is what the stars are singing about. Here is what the silence of boundless night is breathing. I Am. Here is courage. Here is the heart.~

“Never forget that you are one of a kind. Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn’t be here in the first place. And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person. ”
~ R. Buckminster Fuller

Like Jen Sincero wrote in ‘You are a Badass’, “There’s nothing as unstoppable as a freight train full of f**k-yeah.” Be that freight train. You do not have to experience the world in the way you were told you had to. This is your life, it’s your responsibility how you live it: bad ass rebel or conformist puppet, progressively sustainable or stagnantly unsustainable?

Don’t tiptoe through life hoping to make it safely to your death. That’s just silly. Grab the world by the balls. See what makes it tick. Then when you’ve figured it out, make it tick, or tick it off. Break rules if you have to. They’re made to be broken so that better rules can be realized. Like Pablo Picasso said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”

Just make sure that you’re responsible for the consequences. Nothing is set in stone, not even stone itself. Break open that stone. The stone is a metaphor for anything that feigns permanence. Shatter it into a million little pieces. Nothing stays the same. Everything changes, including you. Roll with the changes, but do it your way. Nonconformity doesn’t mean out of control, it means out of “their” control. This is your world. Just remember: we all have to live in it.~~

FULL MOON Lunar Eclipse in Leo January 31st 2018~

This rare convergence will change the rest of your life.

On January 31st, there will be a super blood blue moon and lunar eclipse in the heart-centered sign of Leo. During this time, the world will shift and forever there will be a "before and after" that we will all remember for years to come, if not for the rest of our lives.

Whether or not you follow astrology, this event will affect all the zodiac signs and even your horoscope. Because there is no over-exaggerating the significance of this lunar event; in fact, the last time we experienced such an occurrence was over 150 years ago!

The reason that this is such a unique and awe-inspiring event is because we have several separate events all colliding on the same day and enhancing the energy of everything that is involved.

What is a super blue blood moon?

A super moon is when the moon is 30 percent closer to earth, making it seem larger, brighter and overall more luminous. Especially noteworthy about this one is that it’s the finale of a trilogy of three that we saw begin back in 2017.

Three is the number of the divine — the holy trinity which represents mind, body and spirit. We often see this number come up in terms to divine partnerships and soulmates as well.

A blood moon is when the earth’s shadow is cast over the moon creating a reddish appearance and glow; by themselves they also are rare as we haven’t experienced one since 2014.

Now, creating even more significance around this is that it’s also a blue moon, meaning that it’s the second full moon within the same calendar month. 2018 isn’t playing around.

We began the year with a super full moon and since then we have traversed the mountains of Capricorn, felt the depths of the new moon on January 16th which initiated us into Eclipse Season, and now we have this moon on the 31st, which honestly couldn’t get any bigger and more profound than it already is.

The question we have to ask ourselves is: What is trying to get our attention in our lives? What aspect, option or avenue is standing in front of us jumping up and down saying, “Look at me, look at me”?

Perhaps we haven’t wanted to look. Maybe we thought it wasn’t what we should be looking at or maybe we just haven’t been ready to look at it. But regardless of what we’ve been doing, there is some aspect of our lives that the universe doesn’t want us to miss out on.

This moon is the big show-stopper this month, wanting to call our attention and focus toward the next chapter of our lives.

Eclipses run in cycles and this one is part of what began for us back in August of 2017 with the total solar eclipse. Since then, we’ve been asked to focus on something in particular in our lives.

We might have had a career move, a big relationship question, an obstacle, or maybe it was a life change in a different direction. But regardless, we’ve all been working on something during these part six months, and now we are going to see the greater meaning behind what we’ve been working on.

Eclipses are the drama queens of astrology but rightly so. Things come in hot and heavy during these times with big sweeping changes or the moments that happen instantaneously, yet end up shaping the next twenty years of our lives.

During this time, what we’ve been consciously or unconsciously learning about or investing in will come to a head. If it’s something like a job or relationship that is meant to stay with us into this next phase, then it will be very clear.

We will receive news of promotions, commitments, or just an intense affirmation in a very obvious way. But if it’s not, the likewise is true.

This means that things have a way of falling apart around eclipses. We unexpectedly have to transfer jobs, move somewhere else, or a relationship seems to have hit a dead-end. Sometimes one of the most difficult things we can do is let something go that is trying to leave.

Not everything or even everyone is meant to stay in our lives long-term. We are not meant to stay in the same place forever in our lives; instead, we are meant to grow, to open up, and to let ourselves be transformed by what we experience.

This is just the beginning of an incredible year that we have ahead of us. It won’t have the same difficult lessons that 2017 saw us wracking our brains over, but that doesn’t mean that it will be an easy ride.

However, the difference is that whatever this year asks of us, we already have well within our power to do.

If we need to be fearless in pursuing a dream or to make a big step in our relationships, that courage is there; we just have to embrace it. If we feel uncertain if a job or a friendship has overstayed its welcome, it’s up to us to get in touch with our intuition and to make the choice to follow what we know is right.

There is no way to prepare for what this super blue blood moon has in store. The best bet is that we have to honestly just make the choice to go with the flow and pay attention to what is trying to leave but also what is trying to come in and begin as well.

We have to decide to be open to seeing where the universe leads, knowing that ultimately everything that happens will serve some greater purpose.

And we have to believe the bad times are behind us, and that maybe the universe really does conspire to bring people together, to create hope from ashes, and to deliver not a happy ending but a truly happy beginning. ~

Life is too short to waste time in bad relationships. It is even too short to waste time in ‘OK’ relationships – the ones that don’t pull you down, but don’t lift you up either. That keep you in the same place, but don’t move you forward.

Until you meet the person who you miss before you even say goodbye, who makes you redefine what it means to be in love, the one who you see the rest of your life when you look in their eyes, stay single.

You owe that to the other person not to get involved in something which you know is not all that it could be. But most importantly you owe it to yourself to wait for that someone.

Someone who really respects you~

You deserve someone who is 100% there for you, 100% of the time. Who calls when they say they’ll call, and who you never worry whether they will text back, or what the text means. Who introduces you to their family without hesitation, and makes you feel welcome.

Someone who respects you more and treats you like you’ve never been treated before.

Someone who never makes you question the relationship~

Stay single until you meet someone who’s not afraid to say I love you. And when they say I love you, and you feel it in every fibre of your being. Who gives you confidence, in yourself and in the relationship. Who believes in you, and you know without question that they feel as strongly about you as you do about them. Even though maybe you fight sometimes, you will always fighting for each other.

This is the person that proves that love shouldn’t be confusion or pain. That heals the pain from the past, and makes it seem like a distant memory.

Someone who makes you feel most like yourself~

The person worth waiting for makes you a better version of yourself. A more confident, happier and stronger person. With them by your side, you feel like you can conquer anything and you feel more complete. You still have bad days, but this person make the bad days seem less important.

Someone who you really connect with~

The two of you don’t need words to communicate, but you talk about things you can’t imagine sharing with anyone else. They are your best friend, your better half, your soulmate. Who you can’t remember what it was like before you met them, or imagine what life would be like without them.

Wait until you meet this person, the person that makes everything easier, that completes you, that makes you a better version of yourself.

Until you meet the person who makes love easy, stay single.~

What old stories are you holding onto that cause you pain?

Here’s a technique you can use to rewrite your story and your life:

Identify five places in your life and go back and find the story that you are telling yourself. And then I want you to write a new story. I want you to tell yourself that new story every day. Like this:

1) Get yourself into a meditative state. If you have a practice already, use that. If you don’t you can chant a sacred word to raise your consciousness, like “Aum” or “Hu” (an ancient name for God). Or, you can watch your breathing in and out. Do this for about five minutes to raise your vibrational rate.

2) Imagine in your mind’s eye, that you are holding the literal “story” on paper about this part of your life that isn’t going the way you want it to. Take a lighter and burn the paper with the story on it.

3) Now I want you to take a fresh sheet of blank paper and write your new story (still in your imagination). See the life and the characters and the scene exactly the way you want it. Write it all out and as you write, imagine it coming to life. Watch as the images rise up off the paper and begin to take shape. Take a moment and see where it goes.

4) Do this exercise every day for one to three weeks.

As above, so below.

By going inside to make changes, you impact what happens in your outer life. It’s real. It works.

When we tenderhearted women step into our power, we bow in acknowledgment to the recognition that we can no longer live a lie.

When the thought of feeling anything at all is too painful, we live the lies of addiction and of numbing ourselves out. In doing so, we distract ourselves from the vulnerability of exposing our real selves.

As we walk into our truth (sometimes for the first time in this lifetime), if we’re shifting, we can’t help but shift those around us.

When you step into your power, something becomes different about the way your light shines, dear heart — it’s sparked alive again.

By power, I don’t mean the power that brings energies of destruction to the world and leaves you clamoring to leave your mark in a manner of naivety and ego.

By power, I mean your power. I mean the power of your soul, the power of your consciousness that you were brought into this world to share. Stop hiding it — your gifts matter.

You could call it your gifts and talents, or your deepest secrets. But in a masculine-dominated world that doesn’t like to ruffle feathers and disrupt the natural hierarchy that our society has evolved into, you’ve grown up taking your superpowers out of safekeeping only when it feels safe (and that might be never).

When we women step into our power, we let go of who we were and we let go of the people who we walked with who simply don’t fit into the schema of our new identity. We let go of the shame of sharing the gifts and talents of our soul. We cut our tethers to the relationships that clipped our wings instead of strengthening our roots.

There’s great sorrow in shedding an old layer of ourselves that doesn’t fit anymore. You have every right to grieve your old identity, but grieve it, let it go, and then set it free. You’re going to be okay. Step into your power with grace and confidence, for this act of shifting yourself matters — and you matter too.

When you step into your power, you tell the story of who you are with your whole heart, for you can no longer tell a lie.

Stepping into our power as women doesn’t mean acting tough and pretending we’re okay. It means a deep acceptance of the fact that it’s okay to fall apart; it means recognizing the power of saying, “I will try again tomorrow, stronger and more powerful, and pick myself up, walking forward in my integrity.”

Stepping into your power is not a badge of courage or a sword you yield. It’s unlearning the shame and guilt of being human when you didn’t feel or act how the world told you you should to be a good human.

Our power is that deep self-acceptance of living for ourselves. Quit living for someone else, in search of their praise. You’re doing it right — you’re going to be just fine.

I simply won’t stand for living with my light off any longer. We women are too full of truth to lie and small ourselves away in the service of someone else’s truth.

“It’s not a woman’s job to get smaller and smaller until she disappears so the world can be more comfortable.” ~ Glennon Doyle Melton
