Acupuncture in Arcata
Stacey Small, L.Ac. is a California State Board licensed Acupuncturist and is also certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She earned a post-graduate degree at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the most highly regarded schools of its kind. Founded by Hua-Ching Ni, a 38th generation Oriental Medical healer, Yo San’s reputation as one of the most extensive and in depth programs in the field of TCM is further venerated for its vision to train each of its students as holders of this precious lineage of healers.
Stacey has been in practice for more than 16 years and has successfully treated a wide range of conditions. She specializes in women's health, stress related conditions, acute and chronic pain and addiction. One of Stacey's passions is working with pregnant women. Stacey works closely with many of the midwives and doulas in Humboldt county to provide care for pregnant women, assist with labor support and provide post partum care.
Stacey has extensive training in Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine and regularly prescribes custom made formulas to her clients. In addition, Stacey spent several years as an herbal apprentice to the late Cecilia Garcia, Chumash Medicine Woman. Through Cecilia's teachings, Stacey learned the many uses of native plants for food and medicine and how to help people reconnect with their natural environment as a tool for healing. This is an important element of her practice.
Stacey is also the founder of Keepers of the Earth, an environmental education program for children, adults and families, that helps facilitate deep nature connection and promotes healthy and WHOLE human beings. Keepers of the Earth holds many workshops and classes throughout the year.
