Interventional teams face increasing amounts of scatter radiation exposure because of an increase in the number of complex PCIs performed in the Cath Lab.

The number of TAVR, CTO’s, Multi-Vessel, Peripheral and Endovascular procedures are increasing and require longer exposures to ionizing radiation than PCI alone.

These advancements are putting interventional teams’ long-term health at risk, linking to a series of significant health effects like cataracts, cancer, skin lesions, hypertension, neuro-degenerative disease and more generalized adverse health effects.

Compromising on radiation protection is NOT an option!

Interventional physicians have the highest
radiation exposure of all professions because of an increase in the number of complex PCIs performed in the Cath lab.

These advancements are putting interventional teams’ long-term health at risk, linking to a series of significant health effects like cataracts, cancer, skin lesions, hypertension and more.

This is the reason we developed the EGGNEST™, to protect everyone who works in the Cath lab from the long term consequences of radiation exposure, reducing scatter radiation by up to 91%.

Our Story

Our primary goal at Egg Medical is to protect everyone who works in the cath lab from the long term consequences of radiation exposure.

Interventional teams face increasing amounts of scatter radiation exposure because of an increase in the number of complex PCIs performed in the Cath lab. These advancements are putting interventional teams’ long-term health at risk, linking to a series of significant health effects like cataracts, cancer, skin lesions, hypertension, neuro-degenerative disease and more generalized adverse health effects.

This is why we created the EGGNEST™, a comprehensive scatter radiation protection system fully integrated into the workflow of the modern Cath Lab. It provides protection for the entire medical team regardless of location, dramatically reducing radiation exposure. Moves with patient, swings with x-ray, providing passive protection with an integrated antimicrobial and impermeable surface for ease of use.

We started our design from the ground up. We designed the Egg Medical solution to keep the patient comfortable while protecting the interventionalist, electrophysiologist, vascular surgeon, biopsy proceduralist, the scrub tech, circulating nurse, TEE cardiologist, the trainee and a cat that might get in!
