13 weeks ago, Jeni was hit by a car and rushed into surgery — a 6-hour repair that saved her life by the incredible skills of Dr. Crouch and our amazing surgical team. Post-op, she faced multiple fractures and significant nerve damage that left her unable to walk.
For 12 weeks, we’ve been helping with her recovery, strengthening exercises, and lots of love and encouragement.
Now, she's officially started rehab and - against all odds with the amazing team WagHab
— Jeni is walking on her own!
Her determination, patience, and being so good-natured are nothing short of inspiring.
Here's to Jeni — the perfect reminder that healing takes time, hope, and a whole lot of heart.

👻🎃 Happy Howl-o-ween from VitaVet Nutrition Solutions! 🎃👻

While the costumes and candy make the night fun for us, remember — many Halloween treats can be tricks for your pets! 🍬🚫

⚠️ Keep these tips in mind:
🍫 Chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free candy), and raisins are toxic to dogs and cats.
🕯️ Keep pets away from lit pumpkins and decorations to avoid burns or accidents.
👻 Make sure costumes fit comfortably and don’t restrict movement or breathing.

Keep the spooky season safe and sweet for your furry family! 💛🐾

To the heroes who ran toward the fire when the world stood still.
To the workers who never came home.
To the lives cut short yet never forgotten.

To the hands that held each other through the smoke and the sorrow.

To the firefighters, police, medics, and all who carried the weight of that day you showed them what it means to be unbreakable.

To the dogs, loyal and tireless,
who searched through devotion and purity.

And to every soul lost, your light rose higher than the towers, carried on wings of remembrance.

Today we bow in silence, for courage that inspires, for the memory that keeps the world united.

We remember. Always. 🦋 🇺🇸

Exciting News from Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery!

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Chris Hoffman, DVM, DACVS-SA, to our surgical team starting July 7th!

Dr. Hoffman comes to us from an orthopedics-only practice in Madison, Wisconsin, and brings extensive experience and a strong passion for orthopedic surgery. We're honored he chose Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery as his next place to practice. He and his wife, also a veterinarian, have been dreaming to move to our area for a while and finally decided it was time to take the leap.

Dr. Hoffman graduated from Michigan State University in 2015, then did his surgical residency at the University of Minnesota, ultimately becoming board-certified in 2020. His focus on orthopedic procedures aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our patients and referring partners. His addition to the team allows us to expand our services and availability, ensuring we can continue to support you and your clients with timely, expert surgical care.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Hoffman to WNC!

As always, we’re here for your orthopedic surgical needs—feel free to reach out with referrals, consults, or questions.
