As we head into warmer weather, more families are spending time around pools, lakes, and rivers. But one thing many people don't realize is how quickly visibility changes once someone is underwater.
In this video, Mandy Nunn, ER Manager, shares an important safety tip that's often overlooked when it comes to swimming.
Dark colors like blue, black, or green can blend into the water, especially in deeper or murkier conditions. Brighter colors like neon orange, yellow, or pink are much easier to spot.
Visibility drops even more in the evening or low light, making supervision even more important.
Always keep your eyes on swimmers, limit distractions, and make sure there's adequate lighting if you're near water later in the day.
Something as simple as color choice can impact safety more than people realize.
