Mariah Thomas, APRN-CNP
Mariah was born in Durant, Oklahoma. She was raised in Tishomingo, OK but eventually moved to the Davis area in 2013. She graduated high school from Tishomingo High School. Mariah graduated Murray State College in Tishomingo OK, then furthered her education Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. She graduated nurse practitioner school from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. Mariah has done a variety of nursing from rheumatology, ER, Med-Surg, case management, home health and hospice and more. She comes from an experienced background and has an established patient base. Mariah found a position and passion for helping people in the medical field and is very excited to continue to serve Southern Oklahoma and welcome new patients. Mariah lives in Hennepin with her husband and three children Tylee, Tagen, and Tateleigh.

We are excited to announce that Oklahoma Integrated Care will be expanding our services to Norman Oklahoma. We are acquiring the clinic formally known as Family Wellness Assoicates.

With this growth we will be adding staff to the clinic as well as joining forces with the current staff.

Vena Marie Tawkoyty, DNP, PMHNP-BC, was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, and is a Doctoral graduate from Oklahoma City University where she earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, in 2024 (GPA 4.0). She obtained her undergraduate degrees from Bacone College in Muskogee, (Associate Degree in Nursing, ‘2005) and Oklahoma City University (Bachelor’s degree in Nursing ‘2019). She is board-certified through the American Nurse Credentialing Center in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice.

She brings to the organization more than 19 years of nursing practice experience, including nursing in diverse healthcare settings, including home health, hospice, acute in-patient settings, post-surgical units, psychiatric mental health, and managerial. She is committed to advancing her expertise to support individuals managing mental health challenges through integrated and personalized care programs.

Her care philosophy is understanding that each client walks through the doors with their own unique experiences, circumstances, culture, and dynamics. She focuses on patient-centered care, collaboratively working with the client and empowering individuals throughout their mental health journey. She aims at individualized care with an empathetic and holistic approach to achieve optimal health.

Vena’s professional goal is to blend her clinical expertise and cultural background to create holistic mental health care solutions for underserved communities, with a focus on compassion, understanding, and individualized treatment.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sports, spending time with her family, and engaging with diverse art mediums. She is a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and is active in preserving her tribal language and culture.

Kirsten Martin earned her bachelors of
Social Work from East Central university in Ada, Oklahoma before attending the University of Oklahoma for her Masters in Social Work.
She began her social work career in 2013 working with the local Area Agency on Aging to promote independent living for seniors in Southern Oklahoma. In 2016 she began working in the mental health field in Ardmore Oklahoma.
Kirsten loves working with patients of all ages and backgrounds to help them see and reach their full potential.

One effective mental health tip is to practice grounding techniques when you feel overwhelmed or anxious. A simple method is the "5-4-3-2-1" exercise:

Look around and name 5 things you can see.
Identify 4 things you can touch.
Listen for 3 sounds you can hear.
Notice 2 things you can smell (or are reminded of).
Acknowledge 1 thing you can taste.
This technique helps bring your focus back to the present moment, interrupting spiraling thoughts and calming the nervous system. It's a tool you can use anywhere, anytime, to create a sense of safety

Take a moment to practice mindfulness. Focus on your breath, the sensations in your body, and the present moment. Mindfulness can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, and increase overall well-being.
