OKC Friends and Family, I am so pleased to announce the addition of our Moore Clinic. Marie Tawkoyty, DNP, PMHNP-BC, will lead the clinic in Moore and is accepting new patients. She will be offering services such as medication management for mental health-related issues, screening, and treatment for ADHD as well as Medication Assisted Treatment program. Vena Marie Tawkoyty, DNP, PMHNP-BC, was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, and is a Doctoral graduate from Oklahoma City University where she earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, in 2024 (GPA 4.0). She obtained her undergraduate degrees from Bacone College in Muskogee, (Associate Degree in Nursing, ‘2005) and Oklahoma City University (Bachelor’s degree in Nursing ‘2019). She is board-certified through the American Nurse Credentialing Center in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Practice.
She brings to the organization more than 19 years of nursing practice experience, including nursing in diverse healthcare settings, including home health, hospice, acute in-patient settings, post-surgical units, psychiatric mental health, and managerial. She is committed to advancing her expertise to support individuals managing mental health challenges through integrated and personalized care programs.
Her care philosophy is understanding that each client walks through the doors with their own unique experiences, circumstances, culture, and dynamics. She focuses on patient-centered care, collaboratively working with the client and empowering individuals throughout their mental health journey. She aims at individualized care with an empathetic and holistic approach to achieve optimal health.
Vena’s professional goal is to blend her clinical expertise and cultural background to create holistic mental health care solutions for underserved communities, with a focus on compassion, understanding, and individualized treatment.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sports, spending time with her family, and engaging with diverse art mediums. She is a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma and is active in preserving her tribal language and culture.
