Motherhood looks different around the world, and moving between cultures can bring unexpected surprises! From maternity leave policies to postpartum support, the differences between the U.S. and Poland are eye-opening. However, no matter where we leave, there is still stigma around perinatal mental health, societal pressure, lack of suport, unrealistic expectations, and poor understanding of mother’s needs. Adjusting to motherhood in a new or old culture feels simply overwhelming.
I am a therapist, born and raised in Poland, who had two kiddos here, in US. My journey into motherhood and transitioning to a new culture had made me more mindful, more understanding, and even more compassionate. I see you, I hear you, and I understand you, mama! You are not alone! 💛

I went from 203 to 137 faster than I though was possible. And, I'll never forget the look on my doctor's face when I walked into his office for my annual checkup.

“Are you doing that “Rice Method” I told you about?”, he stuttered.

So, I told him I've been doing it for the last few months and how it's really transforming my life and health.

"Nothing has EVER worked so fast for me!", I said with a BIG smile.

Even the nurses were complimenting me on my transformation and asking me how I had done it at my age.

It was the first time in almost 2 decades, I left my the doctor’s office feeling good about myself.
