New Blog post 💥

Test season is here (STAAR etc...) and for many kids, that means anxiety is too.

But here’s the truth:
Most kids aren’t just afraid of the test,
they’re afraid of what it means.
✨ “What if I’m not good enough?”
✨ “What if I disappoint my parents/teachers?”

As parents, we don’t have to add pressure to help them succeed. We can be the calm, safe place they come back to. ❤️

Try this today:
Instead of asking “How did you do?”
Ask → “How did you feel?” "What was it like?"
Then remind them of where their true identity comes from and it's definitely not a test! Connection builds confidence. 💙

👇 I created a helpful blog post to explore this topic further

Spring brings a lot of things. We have longer days, blooming flowers, and for many families… testing season. If you’re a parent, you may already feel the shift. More homework. More pressure. More conversations about performance. And for many kids, more anxiety.Test anxiety is real and it doesn.....

Connection before correction helps with regulation 👍🏼

However, if as parents we also are dysregulated during a child's tantrum or a teens outburst then we cannot teach them anything.

Learning to regulate yourself will help children mirror that behavior and will help you be able to help regulate them

The goal is to match their high energy with your calm energy

I'm here to help! Schedule a consult today

Sharing because this is what it's all about 👏🏼

Are you equipped to repair? Are you modeling what you want your children to see?

Do you have a hard time with pride?

As parents we must surrender pride and many other things to the Lord if we want to raise emotionally healthy children. It starts with you and you got this! 👏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼

Setting the appropriate expectations for regulation is key 🗝️

The question is are you equipped with the skills to regulate yourself?

Is your child equipped with the skills to regulate themselves?

This may seem small, but remember our kids are watching and listening. They pick up on all of the things

How are you responding to your children's mistakes, failures etc...?

Remember, just because kids get into trouble a lot doesn't mean they are a bad kid, it means that they are a good kid that makes bad choices sometimes.

What narratives were created for you as a child? How has your life been shaped because of them? Keep this in mind when around not only your own kids but any kid you interact with ❤️

We’re raising kids in a world that is louder, faster, and more overwhelming than ever before.

Emotional security isn’t about preventing meltdowns—it’s about being a safe place through them.

February is all about love, so let's love our kids through their pain ❤️

✨ New blog: How to Raise Emotionally Secure Kids in an Overstimulating World👇🏼

We are raising children in a world that is louder, faster, and more demanding than ever before. Screens are everywhere. Schedules are packed. Expectations—both spoken and unspoken—are high. For many kids, especially those who are emotionally sensitive or neurodivergent, the constant stimulation ...

❄️ Snowed In? Let Connection Be the Goal — Not Perfection

We have been stuck inside longer than expected...
The routines are off
The energy is high
The patience is low

And if you’re parenting right now, you’re probably wondering:
“How are we supposed to survive this?”

Here’s your gentle reminder from a counselor:
👉 You don’t need to entertain your kids all day.
👉 You don’t need a perfect schedule.
👉 You don’t need Pinterest-level activities.

What your kids need most — especially during long indoor days — is connection.
Here are a few simple ways to connect while stuck inside:
❄️ Move together
Dance breaks, hallway races, yoga videos, or obstacle courses help regulate winter wiggles.
❄️ Lower the bar
Pick one intentional connection moment — not a full day of activities.
❄️ Do ordinary things together
Bake, fold laundry, build Legos, or cook dinner side by side. Connection doesn’t require a craft bin.
❄️ Play their way
Let your child choose the game — even if it makes zero sense to you.
❄️ Laugh on purpose
Silly voices, jokes, or family challenges calm nervous systems faster than lectures.
❄️ Create predictability
A loose plan like “morning move • midday quiet • afternoon fun” helps kids feel safe.
And when tensions rise (because they will):
✨ Connection before correction.
✨ Regulation before reasoning.
✨ Grace over perfection.

Snow days don’t have to be magical 👏🏼
