Well, this is newsworthy. The weight loss drug Wegovy, AKA Ozempic or semaglutide, the once weekly injection is now available for $199 per month for the first two months and will hopefully stay at that price although right now Novo Nordisk is stating that after the first 2 months, the price will increase to $349 per month for all doses of weekly injectable Wegovy.

Additionally, Wegovy is now available in tablet form taken once daily and surprisingly, has shown to be just as effective as the weekly injection. Wegovy tablets are $149 per month for the first two months then increase to $199 or $299 per month depending on dose.

These drugs are from the manufacturer, not a compounded form of the drug. These prices are available to anyone with or without insurance coverage.

Your BMI must be at or above 30 or 27+ with other qualifying health issues. Some people will not be able to take this medication due to certain current or past health conditions.

Unfortunately, the roads are still too slick. Bray Family Medicine will be closed again tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, but Dr. Bray will be doing video visits for those patients who were already scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday if possible. You will be receiving a text or call soon to see if you would like to do your visit by video. I think we will be back in clinic on Thursday with extra slots open for acute visits. For the safety of our patients, staff and anyone on the road tomorrow, Bray Family Medicine will be closed Monday, January 26. If you need something from our nursing staff or Dr. Bray, call the clinic and follow the prompts to leave a message. The message is delivered right to our phones. If you have an appointment on Monday or Tuesday with Dr. Bray, a staff member will call you. When appropriate, a video visit may be offered in place of an office visit.
