UPCOMING EVENTS WITH ArCA!

Big things are happening in the Arkansas counseling community, and we want YOU to be part of them! ArCA has two exciting events coming up this spring and summer — here's everything you need to know:

🌟 ArCA & RCPAA: 2026 REHABILITATION TRAINING CONFERENCE

WHERE? Oaklawn Resort and Event Center | Hot Springs, Arkansas
WHEN? May 20 - 22nd, 2026 | Schedule Varies

ArCA has formally partnered with the Rehabilitation Counselors and Professionals Association of Arkansas (RCPAA) for their 2026 Rehabilitation Training Conference — a cross-disciplinary gathering of mental health counselors, vocational rehabilitation professionals, assistive technology specialists, social workers, and more!

Thursday, May 21st is ArCA's dedicated day, featuring 5 NBCC CE hours. Additional NBCC-eligible sessions, LPC credits, CRCs, and CEUs for job coaches are available across all three days.

* Wednesday, May 20 — 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. + President's Reception 6:00–9:00 p.m.
* Thursday, May 21 — 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Friday, May 22 — 8:00 a.m. to noon

Full registration includes all meals and snacks throughout the conference.
Early bird registration discounts have been extended through the end of April

🌟 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE (LDI)

WHEN? June 12, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

ArCA's annual Leadership Development Institute is a one-day event designed for anyone ready to explore and develop their leadership potential — whether leadership found you, or you found it! LDI is open to all counseling professionals and students, including those interested in future roles within ArCA.

Up to 4.5 CEU hours will be offered, and this year we're proud to partner with Dress for Success NWA as our premier sponsor, who will be hosting a professional clothing donation drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used professional clothing to help stock closets across Arkansas.

The U.S. Department of Education has released a proposed rule that would limit how much graduate students can borrow to finance their education. This rule is now open for public comment, and the Department is accepting feedback through March 2, 2026, after which the rule could be finalized and take effect on July 1, 2026.
The Government Affairs Office at NBCC has created three template letters—for Counselors, Counselor Educators, and Counseling Students—along with step-by-step instructions for submitting comments through our recent VoterVoice campaign. (https://www.votervoice.net/NBCCGrassroots/Campaigns/133650/Respond) We encourage you to take action today by submitting a comment letter and sharing the campaign with your peers.
It is critical that we make our voices heard on this important issue, which impacts many professions, including Counseling!
