A lot of people think that if you come to a Rural Emergency Hospital (REH), you can only stay for 24 hours - but that's not true!

👉You can stay longer than 24 hours if your provider needs more time to watch your symptoms, run tests, or see how treatment is working.

What does this mean for you?
• You don’t have to be rushed somewhere else
• Your care team can take the time they need
• You may be able to stay close to home and family

REHs give providers the time they need to make safe decisions—without rushing a transfer—while still ensuring patients get the right level of care. If you need a higher level of care, we’ll make sure you’re transferred to the right place, but when it’s safe to stay, we can keep caring for you here.

Because staying close can make all the difference. 💙

A Kansas native, Dr. Nguyen brings his advanced pediatric cardiology training back home after completing his fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL. He treats children from infancy through early adulthood with a wide range of heart conditions.

When he's not caring for young hearts, Dr. Nguyen enjoys life with his wife and three kids — and is a passionate fan of KU & WSU basketball and KC Chiefs & Dallas Cowboys football! 🏀🏈
