We started doing elementary school vision screenings with our local Rotary Club of Arlington Heights and our colleagues at the Palatine Walmart in 2019. We have now engaged other optometrists in the area to help us. Dr. Wood was at Kimball Hill Elementary School in Rolling Meadows today and we were able to screen and give glasses prescriptions to 14 children.

Northwest Eye Physicians would like to welcome Dr. Augustine Hong, MD to our team! Prior to joining Northwest Eye Physicians, Dr. Hong served as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and the Corneal Fellowship Program Director at Washington University in St. Louis. During his 12-year tenure, he was deeply engaged in education and mentorship, earning the Academic Teacher of the Year Award in Ophthalmology. He has trained and mentored over one hundred ophthalmology residents and fellows, many of whom continue to impact their communities both nationally and internationally. He is also an active surgical instructor at national cataract and corneal surgery courses.

Dr. Hong will begin seeing patients at our practice on 9/2/2025.

Northwest Eye Physicians will now be offering the latest trifocal lens implant technology in the form of the Alcon Clareon PanOptix Pro intraocular lens implant. This newly improved trifocal lens allows for much better light transmission and fuller range of vision than previous trifocal implants. It also has less risk of glare and halos than earlier technology in this space.
