Today we celebrate not only the 80th birthday of Biblical Counseling Center founder, Dr. Ron Allchin, but a life that continues to be faithfully lived in service to Christ and His church.
Dr. Ron Allchin grew up near Philadelphia in a hardworking, blue-collar family. After spending a year pursuing medical studies at a local university, God redirected his path and called him into ministry. For several decades, Ron faithfully served youth and families before completing his Doctorate in Biblical Counseling.
In 1989, he founded the Biblical Counseling Center near Chicago, driven by a deep love for God’s Word and a tireless commitment to helping people apply its truth to the real struggles of everyday life. His vision was simple yet profound: that God’s people would be equipped to bring the hope of Christ to the hurting and struggling through the life-giving truth of Scripture.
Over the past 35 years, Ron and Sherry have faithfully counseled countless individuals and couples, trained pastors, and equipped lay counselors to bring biblical hope to their communities. Even now at 80, they remain active in ministry—recently teaching pastors and wives in Cuba and leading nearly 80 students in a new Essentials of Marriage Counseling class online. Now living near their grandchildren in eastern Tennessee, Ron and Sherry aren’t thinking about retirement—they simply want to be faithful with whatever days God gives, leaving the details in His hands.
As we celebrate 80 years of God’s grace in Ron’s life, we give thanks for his faithfulness, his love for Christ, and his example of humble servant leadership. May God continue to bless and use his life and ministry for His glory in the years to come.
