Welcome to Hand to Shoulder Associates Hand to Shoulder Associates began in the early 1970’s as a single physician hand surgery practice located in the growing industrial area of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Over the last 40 years, we have grown to become a renowned center of excellence, recognized across the state for our specialization in injuries and problems of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. The first replantations of upper extremity amputations in Chicago were performed by one of the co-founders of HSA in the 1970s.
At Hand to Shoulder Associates we pride ourselves on a personal approach to our patient’s needs. We have chosen to remain an independent, high quality, boutique practice to provide the best possible care without all the hassle and impersonal service of large hospital systems. At HSA we believe the surgeon patient relationship is of utmost importance. In that light, we do not use physician assistants or nurse practitioners for patient care. You will meet with your surgeon at every visit and be treated as we would treat our own family members.
With our main office still located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, HSA has expanded to provide care to the entire Chicagoland area as well. With our 6 surgeons choosing to super specialize in ONLY the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, HSA is one of the largest upper extremity groups in the Midwest. All of our surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, each having additional sub-specialization and certification in the upper extremity and microvascular surgery.
