Here are tips to help prevent tennis elbow before it starts:

✅ Use proper lifting techniques – Lift with your legs, not your arms, to reduce strain on your elbows.

✅ Take regular breaks – Give your forearms a rest during repetitive tasks like typing, painting, or using tools.

✅ Strengthen your forearm muscles – Build endurance with targeted exercises to better support repetitive motion.

✅ Use ergonomic equipment – Set up your desk or workspace to reduce unnecessary tension on your arms and wrists.

✅ Warm up before activity – Stretch and prep your muscles before workouts, sports, or heavy lifting.

✅ Schedule chiropractic care – Regular adjustments can help correct joint imbalances and keep your body moving properly.

"Is Chiropractic Safe During Pregnancy?"

Dr. Matt at Momentum Health Center often gets asked this important question — and the answer is yes.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is not only safe when performed by a trained professional, but it can also be incredibly beneficial. 🌿

Gentle, pregnancy-specific adjustments help keep the spine and pelvis in proper alignment, which may reduce low back pain, sciatica, and overall discomfort as the body changes. Proper alignment can also help the nervous system function optimally — supporting balance, mobility, and even contributing to smoother labor and delivery outcomes.

"Should My Teen See a Chiropractor for Sports?"

Dr. Matt at Momentum Health Center was recently asked this important question — and the short answer is yes.

Chiropractic care plays a valuable role in supporting young athletes. By keeping the spine and joints properly aligned, it helps the body move efficiently, reduces unnecessary strain, and improves overall coordination.

Regular chiropractic checkups can also identify small imbalances before they become injuries — helping teens recover faster, perform better, and stay active safely.

Tennis elbow isn't just caused by playing tennis, it can happen from a variety of everyday activities that put stress on your forearm tendons. Here’s a closer look at the causes:

• Sports: Activities like tennis, golf, or racquet sports require repetitive gripping and swinging motions, putting strain on the tendons in your elbow.

• Repetitive Work: Jobs that involve repetitive movements, such as painting, plumbing, or assembly work, can cause wear and tear on the forearm muscles and tendons over
• Lifting: Regularly lifting heavy objects, especially with improper form, can put excessive pressure on the elbow, leading to inflammation and pain.

• Typing: If you spend long hours typing or working on a computer, the repetitive motions of your hands and wrists can lead to strain in your forearm, triggering tennis elbow.

If you're dealing with tennis elbow, giving your arm the rest it needs is crucial. Avoid activities that trigger the pain, and allow the tendons to heal. Incorporating regular breaks throughout the day can also help prevent overuse.

Dr. Matt at Momentum Health Center shares two simple yet powerful exercises that can make a big difference:

1️⃣ Wall Balance Exercise – Stand near a wall with your hands gently resting on it. Slowly lift one leg and try to balance for 40–60 seconds. Keep your hands close for support if needed. This helps strengthen stabilizing muscles and improve coordination.

2️⃣ Chair Squats – Use a sturdy chair with armrests. From a seated position, press through your legs (not your arms) to stand up, then sit back down in a controlled motion. This builds lower body strength — key for preventing falls and maintaining independence.
