Four legends. One night. Music history made. The Paramount Theatre in Aurora put on an exciting and energetic performance of the Million Dollar Quartet! We were moving and grooving in our seats! Followed by dinner at Two Brothers Roundhouse.

Take me out to the ball game! We had a great time at the Chicago Dogs game in Rosemont! They won 4-3!
Our very own Mrs. Malcom got a foul ball, followed by an exciting firework show!

Our resident pianist Mrs Sandvick with her new Baby Grand Piano which was donated to Luther Village by a new resident of Campbell House. Come and listen to Mrs Sandvick on Thursday night in the Lakeview Club.

Up next was a trip to The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, 1,700 acres of beautiful tree-filled landscapes. We explored the arboretum on a tram tour that took us through the grounds.

Nothing like having the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre right down the street from Luther Village! Residents went to see “Dear Jack, Dear Louise”.

At Luther Village, our outings explore historical landmarks, such as The Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture Tour in Oak Park, to a presentation on Route 66 in the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet. Both consisting of beautiful woodwork and attention to details in the stained-glass windows. See activities to view what our next outings are coming up in August!

L.V. Pond Cleanup

On Friday the staff volunteered to clean up the ponds to get rid of garbage, fishing line and hooks left by fisherman. In the last month we have had 3 cygnets get hooked or tangled with line. We lost one cygnet that drowned but we were able to save the other 2. Please retrieve all hooks and line whenever possible.

One of our favorite events to throw was our Summer Carnival! Pony rides, games, prizes, and best of all our smash hit, the dunk tank!

A great Blue Heron waiting for Dave Sampson to feed the swans. The fish wait for the swans to drop food in the water and the Heron feeds on the fish. The cycle of life is fascinating. Photo taken by Luther Village resident Ms Zdeb.
