Meet Nicole. E. Lomotan, M.D. - one of our newest doctors at WomanCare!

Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Dr. Lomotan attended Northwestern University for her undergraduate studies. She then went on to earn her medical degree at New York Medical College. Following medical school, Dr. Lomotan completed her residency at Richmond University Medical Center in New York, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year.

Dr. Lomotan is passionate about patient education and empowering women to make informed decisions about their health. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology and performs a variety of minimally invasive surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Lomotan enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, dining at new restaurants, and reading.

Urodynamic Studies at WomanCare

Experiencing bladder discomfort or urinary issues? Urodynamic studies might be the answer. This painless test evaluates how well your bladder and urethra store and release urine, helping to diagnose issues such as incontinence or frequent urination.

👩‍⚕️ Why You Might Need a Urodynamic Study:
Incontinence (leakage of urine)
Incomplete bladder emptying
Frequent urges to urinate
Weak or intermittent urine stream
Persistent urinary tract symptoms
🌟 What to Expect:

Preparation: Discontinue any bladder medications four days before the test. Perform a urinalysis and urine culture at one of our WomanCare locations.
During the Test: You'll be asked to empty your bladder, then a nurse will insert a small catheter to fill your bladder with saline. You may be asked to cough or bear down to provide data on bladder function.
Post-Test: The procedure is painless and takes about an hour. You can drive yourself home afterward.

Erin Kopeny, PA-C
GYNECOLOGY

Erin Kopeny joined Womancare in 2020 and brings over 24 years of experience in internal medicine and women’s health to our practice. Along with her daily clinic in Arlington Heights, she is also an adjunct faculty member at Midwestern University in Downers Grove and enjoys mentoring students aspiring to join the medical profession.

Erin’s clinical career spans from acute care medicine through all aspects of adolescent and adult health. She performs office based gynecology procedures, IUD insertion, annual physicals and with her internal medicine background she can help guide your medical decision making in many facets of your overall care, from adolescence through family planning, menopause and beyond. She is a certified health coach and has post-graduate training and expertise in nutrition, weight loss & digestive health.

She attended UCSB for her undergraduate studies and then attended Midwestern University in Downers Grove For her medical training where she earned her Masters Degree.

Erin is originally from Santa Barbara, California, but has lived in Arlington Heights for over 20 years with her husband, two college-aged daughters and two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She enjoys beach vacations, water sports, cooking, hiking and celebrating the great things that life has to offer.
