It's a perfect day to snuggle! Some dogs love burrowing under blankets because it feels like a safe little “den.”

It is calming, warm, and helps them relax even more. If your pup is a blanket snuggler, they are basically living their best cozy life. ❄️💛

Coyote warning:

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Btgx6vyAP/

Your dog just went out the back door alone. You have 60 seconds before a coyote can strike.

RIGHT NOW: Coyote mating season (next 4-6 weeks). Males are territorial, aggressive, and hunting small pets.

What happens: Silent. Fast. Your pet is gone before you hear anything.

What to do TODAY:
→ NEVER let pets out alone (day or night)
→ Leash walks only (even in your yard)
→ Scan yard before opening door
→ Motion lights + air horn by door

Your dog trusts you to protect them. They can't protect themselves from a 40-pound predator.

Go outside WITH them. Every. Single. Time.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our former owner, Dr. Richard Sefcik.
Dr. Sefcik took over ownership of AHAH with Dr. Stephen Camp in 1978. They worked together at the original site on Arlington Heights Road growing clientele and staff until building our current facility that opened in 1993. Dr. Sefcik and his wife, Jan, retired to the Turks and Caicos in 2004. After 10 years on the island, they returned to the states and put down roots in North Carolina. Although retired from regular practice, Dr. Sefcik continued his craft of helping animals by volunteering for many rescues, shelters and spay/neuter programs on their island and in North Carolina.
Dr. Sefcik passed away after a brief illness on November 27, 2025. He is remembered for his vast knowledge of veterinary medicine, love of animals, problem solving skills (better known as Macgyvering) and wicked sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
