As a cancer patient or survivor, I know firsthand how easy it is to put everyone else first, including family, work, & treatments, while we forget that taking care of ourselves is the foundation for caring for others.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and I’m reminded why days like this matter so much. They give us a chance to pause, reflect, and talk openly about something that affects every single one of us, our mental well-being.

As someone who works closely with people facing serious health challenges, I’ve seen how emotional healing is just as important as physical recovery. We can’t truly thrive if we’re silently struggling inside.

Days like this help us stop the stigma around mental health; to say out loud that it’s okay to seek help, to need rest, to feel vulnerable, and to prioritize our emotional care.

Let’s use today to check in with ourselves and with one another. Healing begins with honesty, compassion, and connection. 💚
