Think this is just dry skin? Think again. Our doctors properly diagnosed this patient with tinea pedis (athlete’s foot). It is often misdiagnosed as eczema or dry skin.

It is easy to catch this fungus at the pool and locker room. It also loves to grow in the warm humid environment of your shoes.

With proper treatment, this patient’s skin improved within 1 month and we discussed tips on how to prevent this in the future.

Happy National Dermatologist Day! Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Campbell are board-certified dermatologists- the *true* experts in medical and aesthetic dermatology. They have completed 4 years of medical school, 1 year of internship, and 3 years of dermatology residency where they diagnosed and treated thousands of patients.

This weekend, both attended the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in San Diego. They attended lectures to bring you all the latest and greatest, and both caught up with with their perspective training programs, and

For Melanoma Monday, we would like to showcase several of the melanomas we have diagnosed in the past few months.

While most of our patients have heard about the “ABCDEs” of melanoma, the one Dr. Jones stresses the most is E, or evolution. In an adult, any new or changing, itchy or bleeding spot should be evaluated by a dermatologist.

If melanoma isn’t caught early, it can progress beyond the outer layer of skin and become more difficult to treat.
