I see this all the time.

You’ve started doing light weights again.

Your motion is mostly back.

You’re cleared to play golf and discharged from PT.

On paper… you’re “good.”

But then:

You can’t smoothly get all the way into your backswing.

You can’t get your arm across your chest.

Your shoulder feels exhausted halfway through the round.

Or something else (like your back) starts barking to make up for what never fully came back.

That’s the gap.

You were rehabbed to feel better.

You weren’t rebuilt to perform.

Golf isn’t a light theraband exercise. It’s speed. Rotation. Repetition. Endurance.

Don’t settle for “good enough.”

Pain with an overhead press is the #1 thing that lands fitness enthusiasts in my office. 🏋️‍♂️

Usually this is because of:
1️⃣ Lack of mobility of flexion or external rotation
2️⃣ Bad technique
3️⃣ Too much, too soon (weight or volume)
