About Us
The Elhadji Sene Legacy Foundation was created in loving memory of Elhadji Sene, a joyful, courageous, and resilient child who lived with Sanfilippo disease for 17 years. Despite the challenges of a rare and progressive illness, Elhadji brought laughter, music, and light into the lives of everyone around him. His strength and happiness remain a source of inspiration to his family and community.
Our foundation exists to honor Elhadji’s legacy by supporting children with disabilities and rare diseases, and by uplifting the families who care for them—especially single mothers navigating these journeys with limited support. We understand that raising a child with disabilities is not only a medical journey, but an emotional and financial one as well.
The Elhadji Sene Legacy Foundation provides emotional support, guidance, and essential resources to families in Texas, while also extending help to children receiving care in hospitals in Senegal. Through fundraising, donation drives, and community partnerships, we collect and distribute clothing, supplies, and financial assistance to families in need.
In addition, we are committed to raising awareness about Sanfilippo disease and advocating for dignity, compassion, and inclusion for children living with rare conditions. Our mission is rooted in love, resilience, and the belief that no family should walk this path alone.
Elhadji’s laughter lives on through every life we touch.
