-This mom defied all odds, she had a rough third trimester. But, she rocked her labor and birth. She is a true birth warrior and pushed through and had a handsome baby boy. So proud of this mama. Welcome Baby Monty!!!

-I am so proud of this mom. She was so calm and happy while she was in labor. You would never know that she was even having any contractions. When she arrived at the birth center she and her husband were making me laugh so hard. Once evaluated she was 7-8 centimeters dilated. I was so amazed. I kept telling her that she could cough her baby out. The couple was on a date the night before for their anniversary and it was the first time that they had let their first child stay away from home and she went into labor in the wee hours of the morning after their anniversary. It was like all the stars aligned just right for this sweet baby girl to arrive. Everyone welcome Zara to the In His Hands Midwifery

-This little girl suprised her mom and her midwife. Mom was trying to wait until her midwife was back from vacation, but started contracting early in the morning the day her midwife was coming back into town. It all worked out!!!! Her midwife came from the airport to the birth center and a baby was born 2 hours later. Mom did an excellent job, she was more comfortable in the shower so that’s where we had a baby! Mom and dad both reached for baby once midwife caught baby as she was handed through moms legs. What a joy!!!! Congratulations on an awesome birth!!!!

Babies come anywhere, anytime, at any given moment. They don’t have calendars or clocks. Tell us some of your most craziest birth stories!!!!

-This mom had it hard from the beginning of her pregnancy, but overcome every hurdle that was thrown at her. In the end she did have to go to the hospital and developed preeclampsia, but she had a beautiful baby girl and we are so proud of you! Ryleigh your midwife loves you! And you share a middle name with me, Yay!!!

Birth is normal, but when the need arises for medical intervention it is good that we do have hospitals. Hospitals have its time and place, but all deliveries do not need to be in the hospital. Do your research. Get the care you want and deserve. Do not let anyone make you feel bad for your choices. Out of hospital births can not be guaranteed, but we can keep you safe by monitoring for any risks that will make it unsafe to deliver out of the hospital and transfer accordingly. Be empowered to take charge of your own choices!!!

-This was not moms first baby, but she definitely got a mini marathon. She had steady change and progressed through her labor slower than her midwife and she thought she would. Baby amniotic sac did not break until baby was being born. She did have the water birth that she wanted. Water births help with pain and decreases the risk of tearing.
