March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and we're back with Tip #3 of our Colon Health Tips series. This week we're talking risk factors.
The truth is, colorectal cancer doesn't always come out of nowhere. Some of us carry a higher risk because of family history, an existing condition like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, lifestyle habits, or simply getting older. And most people have no idea.
This isn't meant to be scary but when you know your risk, you can have a real conversation with your doctor about when to screen, how often, and what to watch for. That conversation could genuinely change things for you, and early detection means colon cancer has a 90% survival rate!
If any of this resonates, this is your nudge to bring it up at your next appointment. 💙
