Celebrating Pathways to Progress at VSIAS 2025

National Capital Treatment & Recovery was honored to participate in this year’s Virginia Summer Institute for Addiction Studies (VSIAS) in Williamsburg, Virginia. The theme, “Pathways to Progress: Recovery Across the Continuum,” reflects our shared mission of advancing treatment and recovery services across the region.

This year’s highlight was seeing Kevin Doyle, President and CEO of the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School and former NCTR staff member, receive the prestigious Ron Pritchard Visionary Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of recovery services. We are proud that our own Cindy Blanton, Regional Services Coordinator, had the privilege of presenting Kevin with this well-deserved recognition.

Together, we continue to advance the vision of recovery and hope for all.

A day of joy, laughter, and balance!

Our Women's Intensive Residential Program recently enjoyed a special field trip to Flip Circus, where patients had the chance to unwind, connect, and celebrate their recovery journey in a vibrant, uplifting environment.

Moments like these remind us that healing isn’t just about treatment—it’s about rediscovering joy, building sisterhood, and creating new, positive memories.

We’re proud of each woman walking this path.

Despite the heat, it was a great day at this annual summer event! Richmond’s recovery community came together for food, raffles, fun prizes, and reconnecting with friends — all in support of ending the stigma.

NCTR’s Business Development Rep, Cindy Blanton, and her own “mini me,” Emily Blanton, were out braving the heat alongside Joe Crawley, Monique Runge, Blake Floyd, Aaron Blowers, and many other great friends gathering for a good cause.

Huge thanks to our partners:

Happy 4th of July from National Capital Treatment & Recovery!

Today, we celebrate the courage that built a nation — and the courage it takes to build a new life in recovery.

Freedom comes in many forms. For those walking the path of recovery, each step forward is a declaration of independence from addiction, stigma, and despair.

As fireworks light up the sky tonight, let us honor the strength, hope, and resilience that define both our country and our community.

Together, we rise. Together, we recover.

We’re proud to stand with our partners and community in celebrating the hope and unity that recovery makes possible.
