🧃 Let’s Talk Juice + Your Child’s Teeth! 🦷
Parents, we know those little juice boxes are convenient (and kiddos love them)… but here’s the truth: juice can be tough on baby teeth.
Even 100% fruit juice is packed with natural sugars, and when those sugars sit on teeth, they feed the bacteria that cause cavities. 😬 Baby teeth have thinner enamel, which means they’re more vulnerable to decay — especially with frequent sipping throughout the day.
Here are a few dentist-approved tips to help protect your child’s smile:
✨ Limit juice. The AAP recommends no juice before age 1, and only small amounts afterward. Water is always the best choice!
✨ Avoid constant sipping. Juice in sippy cups all day = sugar sitting on teeth all day.
✨ Serve juice with meals, not as a snack. This reduces how long sugars stay on teeth.
✨ Brush twice a day and don’t forget fluoride toothpaste!
Healthy habits start early, and little changes can make a big difference in keeping those smiles cavity-free. 💛
