Do you feel unqualified for your grief sometimes? Not like- “I can’t handle it” unqualified, I mean- “I haven’t been through anything traumatic enough to feel this overwhelmed”? We have a habit of devaluing and lessening our intense emotions and experiences because “someone else definitely has it worse than we do for sure”.
I believe in the power of positivity and time healing wounds, but I also believe in addressing YOUR stuff, that matters to YOU even if it doesn’t fit your qualification of what is the appropriate amount of time or way to grieve and heal. I love hearing people’s stories- and there have been a couple influential women who have spoken into my life and shared their story of how they overcame. I just want you to know that YOUR struggle matters, and may change someone else’s life someday. So if you have overcome some big and yucky things, be a voice to the ones who are in the thick of it... and if you’re in the thick of it trying to keep your head above water- speak up! It gets better! People have been there and suffered quietly and can tell you the joy comes in the morning and it WILL get better.
