Dear Community,
I want to first begin by saying thank you for all of the support you have shown me and my business the last 7 years. From my supporters, students, and friends in Indiana to my fellow Arlingtonians- I could have never done this without your support!
Being a small business owner has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I have ever done. I have learned so much by owning and operating this small business by myself, and those valuable lessons are skills I will always be grateful for. Being a solopreneur and small business owner is not for the faint of heart, and I am so grateful for taking the chance when I was only 26 years old! (Feels like a lifetime ago)
There are no words to express everything I am feeling, but the point of this post today is to let you know that for some time now I've been ready for a change. I'm ready to take a break from running this business. I still absolutely love the work that I have done with clients, believe in the modalities I've offered, and have seen how life changing they can truly be. I've seen so many people grow, find peace of mind, feel whole in mind and body, and that has been the most rewarding aspect of it all. But I'm at a place in my life now where I'm ready for something new.
Which is why I'm I am so excited to share that I will be starting a new full time position as the Mason Square Programming Coordinator at George Mason University!
Many of you likely remember that I had the opportunity to lead mindfulness and sound healing at GMU last autumn as part of their Mason Square Plaza events. Everyone was so welcoming, and I loved every minute of being on campus with this amazing group of people. So when I saw the open opportunity for this position, I took the chance and applied!
I'm so excited to officially be a part of the University Life Mason Square team, and can't wait for all the fun we'll have coordinating plaza events for the students, and our Arlington community!! I can't imagine a better place or team of people to work with! My official start date is March 27th!
Because of this journey into a new career, I will be putting my business on hold until further notice. At this time, I am not accepting any clients for my programs or any modalities, and virtual yoga will be put on pause beginning March 27th. (There will still be virtual yoga next week March 20 & 24) I'm undecided at this time if I will offer virtual classes after I get settled into my new job. In full transparency, I have made arrangements to move out of my current office by the summer.
While it does feel a bit bittersweet to be putting my business aside, I am ready and excited for this new adventure! In this new role I'll get to combine my love for creativity, community engagement, and event planning while working with an amazing group of people!!
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart for all of your support. I am (and will forever be) so grateful for you! May you be at peace.
With immense gratitude & so much love,
💗 Kara
