🌟So proud of the Hangout social group! ❤️. Not only is their garden🎍 flourishing but they are getting so much experience taking care of it and even trying things that are very hard for them like exploring new foods, new smells, and new sensory experiences! All of the kids are very engaged in this and a few have discovered a true ❤️ of gardening! 🌟

"The Hangout" our big kid social skills group has been at it again, they not only planted🪏 their own garden 🎍, they even germinated seeds that have taken off into huge plants in no time!
They water with care, check for weeds and care entirely for our Shine garden!👩🏼‍🌾 They will be trying the various foods they grew and baking/cooking meals that include these delicious home grown veggies and herbs!!

🌟Sooooo proud of our "Hangout" big kid social skills boys! Not only did they work together to serve A LOT of lemonade 🍋 that was absolutely Delicious 😋!!! They took turns working each portion of the both, greeting customers, taking orders, making change, pouring & passing out each cup of lemonade and even dealing with customers who wanted discounted refills 😂!

🌟COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR SOCIAL SKILLS PROGRAM 🌟 Our friends will be running a 🍋 Lemonade Stand next week during 3:30 pick up and 4:30 pick up on Monday (6/2), Wednesday (6/4), and Friday (6/6) in the Shine parking lot. Cost is $1.00 per cup!
June 2nd 4th, 6th SHINE LEMONADE STAND🍋
They will be learning how to work together as a team, communication skills, and how to budget money. They will spend the money they earn from their sales on an end of the school year 🍕 PUZZA PARTY!!

Our summer kick off NET & 💦 day was a HIT!! ☀️🍉😎 Our clients got to work on many different seasonally themed learning activities AND it was 🌊 WATER 🌊 day with popsicle treats! We had some happy clients and therapists at Shine today 🌟

Inspired to help others. My own ASD child started me on this path, experience & passion drove me to create Shine!

Hello,

First and foremost I am the mother of a five year old autistic boy who was diagnosed 7 days after his birth with Hydrocephalus. This resulted in three brain surgeries and a later diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Just before my son’s third birthday we received yet another diagnosis, this time Autism. I have walked this journey with many others in the DFW area for the last five years and I‘ve seen the pain and the joy, the success over the little things and the daily struggles and stress from a firsthand perspective. I connect with fellow ASD parents in groups, online forums, at playdates, doctor appointments and special needs functions and conferences. I have felt the desperation and desire for help and support. I saw a way to make a difference. As a parent of a special needs child I desperately want my son to receive the very best care but it goes further than that, I also want to provide a safe place where parents and their special children can feel secure and understood. After over 15 years as a sales & marketing professional in the corporate world I have moved on to pursue my true passion. This is what drove me to create Shine.

I welcome you to come into the center and experience the warm, specialized environment and amazing curriculum that we provide.
